Trinity In Taylorville Prime Time Performer: May 15-20

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

Becca Heitzig (Lincoln Track & Field) Heitzig is a two time 2A 800 meter championship after winning at Eastern on Saturday. Not only did she win the event for the second time, she also broke the state record that she set last year with a time of 2:08.48…. and she’s only a junior. Heitzig also picked up second in the 1600 meter. Check out the highlight from the girls state track and field meet HERE.

Colleen Zeibert (Rochester Track & Field) The Rocket’s 4×800 team brought back a 2A state title to Rochester on Saturday. Zeibert set a personal record in the race as she anchored the relay with a time of 2:11.21 to help put the Rockets into the first place position. The team finished with a time of 9:33.45. Zeibert also finished second in the 800 meter. Highlights of the state meet HERE.

Aubrey Balota (Normal U-High Soccer) The Pioneers picked up a sectional title last week at the 1A Williamsville sectional. Balota had a big night in the semifinal on Tuesday with five goals to help move U-High into the title game. She then got things started on Friday with the first goal of the game as the Pioneers picked up the 2-0 victory and move into the Herscher super sectional on Tuesday. Elle Walker (Pleasant Plains Soccer) Pleasant Plains is heading to a 1A super sectional after a 1-0 victory over SHG on Friday night in the 1A Riverton sectional. Walker was in goal for the Cardinals and preserved the shutout in the victory. See the highlights of the Cardinal sectional victory HERE.

Danika Frazier (Olympia Softball) The Olympia Spartans won a 2A regional title in Buffalo on Saturday. They picked up a 9-1 victory over Carlinville. Frazier threw seven innings allowing two hits, one run and striking out 15 in the process. She also had one hit and one RBI in the win. They head to the QND sectional this week. Evan Foster (Maroa Forsyth Baseball) What’s better then winning a regional title? Throwing a perfect game in the process. On Saturday, in Athens, Foster threw a seven inning perfect game while striking out 12 in the 3-0 victory over Williamsville. He also went 2 for 2 at the plate and scored two runs. Meena Taylor (Auburn Softball) The Trojans picked up a regional championship on Friday in Williamsville with a 1-0 victory over Athens. Taylor was in the circle for Auburn that night and allowed three hits while striking out nine in the win. Auburn will travel to QND this week for a 2A sectional. Parker Detmers (Glenwood Baseball) The Titans are Central State Eight champs after a 3-1 victory over Springfield High on Wednesday that clinched the outright title. Detmers threw seven innings allowing just one hit and one run while striking out 12. You can see how the Titans got the win HERE.

Irie Lorhrenz (Glenwood Softball) Another great pitching performance from Lorhrenz to help clinch the outright CS8 title. She threw seven innings allowing one hit, one walk and picking up 8 Ks in the 3-0 win over Springfield High. On Wednesday the Titans finished off a perfect CS8 record this season. Nathan Dahl (Pleasant Plains Track & Field) The Cardinals are sectional champs and they prepare to head to Eastern for state this week. At the 1A Beardstown sectional, Dahl helped lead Plains to the title. He picked up a second place finish in the 400m with a time of 51.09 seconds and was also a part of two relays. The 4×400 relay finished first (3:29.27) while the 4×800 team took second in 8:27.10.

Nathan Barth (Auburn Track & Field) Auburn won a sectional championship at the 1A Gillespie sectional last week and will head to Eastern this week. Barth was in four events that night including two relays. The 4×400 relay took the victory with a time of 3:27.97 while the 4×100 finished fourth with a time of 44.80. Barth also took part in both hurdle events, finishing fourth in both. His time in the 110 hurdles was 16.26 while he finished the 300 hurdles in 43.22.

Noah Williams & David Lu (Springfield High Tennis) The Senators won a sectional title in Glenwood over the weekend as the doubles team of Williams and Lu took first in the doubles bracket. The picked up a 6-2, 6-1 victory over SHG for the title.
