Luke Blackford (Calvary Boys Basketball) Back on the list after another big week for Blackford. The Saints got the week started with a 68-67 double overtime win over Pleasant Plains. In that win, Blackford scored 26 points as he went 11 for 16 at the free throw line. On Saturday, at the Capital City Showcase against Christ Our Rock, Blackford scored 31 points with six rebounds and six steals. Henry Buecker (Rochester Boys Basketball) Rochester got started with conference play on Saturday at the Capital City Showcase and picked up a 59-48 win over Southeast. In the victory, Buecker had a game high 16 points while also being a big contributor on defense with seven steals. See the highlights of the Rocket’s win HERE.

Oliver Cooley (Jacksonville Wrestling) The Crimsons traveled to Civic Memorial High School on Saturday for the Steve Bradley Invite. Cooley won the 215lb bracket with a 4-3 decision over a wrestler from East Alton Wood River.

Kloe Froebe (Lincoln Girls Basketball) Add all time leading scorer at Lincoln to the list of records Froebe now owns. On Thursday, in a win over Bloomington, Froebe scored 31 points to claim the record which was previously 2,376. She also scored 30 earlier in the week against MacArthur and 27 the night after claiming the record for a current career total of 2,404 points. Tanner Frye (New Berlin Boys Basketball) The Pretzels played in the second game of the day at the Capital City Showcase on Saturday and picked up a 54-41 win over Litchfield. Frye was the leading scorer for New Berlin with 14 points with 2 threes and while also going 2-2 from the free throw line. Check out the highlights of the win HERE.

Shaunassey Hatachett Jr (Lanphier Boys Basketball) The Lions picked up a close 56-53 Central State Eight win over Eisenhower on Saturday at the Capital City Showcase. Hatchett finished with a double double of 19 points and 11 rebounds in the win along with two steals. See the highlights HERE.

Karson Komnick (Lincoln Boys Basketball) A big win for the Railers on Saturday and a couple big buckets from Komnick. Lincoln picked up their first CS8 win of the season with a 38-35 victory over SHG. Komnick had nine points in nine minutes for the Railers along with the biggest three of the game with under a minute to play and two free throws to secure the win. Zac Laird (Athens Boys Basketball) The Warriors got a 42-40 win against former Sangamo member North Mac on Friday night and it was Laird’s bucket that was the difference. Laird made a buzzer beater game winner to seal the victory for the Warriors. He also had nine points in the win.

Sean Lee (MacArthur Boys Basketball) The Generals started off CS8 play strong with a 82-52 win over Springfield High at the Capital City Showcase on Saturday. Lee scored a game high 26 points while also picking up seven rebounds in the win. Highlights of the victory HERE.

John Ben Maduena (Glenwood Wrestling) The Titans hosted the Tyler Cox Memorial Invite on Saturday and picked up the team win. Maduena continued with his unbeaten start to the season by winning the 138lb bracket. The championship win came against a wrestler from Champaign Centennial with a 2-0 decision for Maduena’s 12th win of the year.

Mason Marshall (Glenwood Boys Basketball) The Titans started off Central State Eight play with a 46-23 win over Normal U-High at the BOS Center on Saturday. In the Capital City Showcase win, Marshall scored 13 points for Glenwood. You can check out the highlights HERE.

Taylor Offer (Rochester Girls Basketball) The Rockets picked up their first CS8 win of the year on Friday night at the RAC with a 59-54 overtime victory against Southeast. In the win, Offer scored 29 points, including 17 free throws to help lead Rochester to the win. First half highlights HERE.

Blake Shoufler (Williamsville Boys Basketball) The Williamsville Bullets trailed by as much as 12 in the third quarter on Friday night against Meridian but came back for the 59-50 win. In the victory Shoufler scored 27 points, 14 of those points came in the fourth after missing most of the third due to injury. Check out the highlights of the win HERE.

Keziah Toran (Springfield High Girls Basketball) The Senators got conference play start on Tuesday with a win over Rochester at Duey Gymnasium. In the 48-30 victory, Toran had a game high 17 points. On Friday in a CS8 game against MacArthur, she scored 22 points with 20 points coming in the final three quarters. Highlights of the win over Rochester HERE.
