Tate Austwick (Williamsville Baseball) Williamsville was down two entering the seventh inning last Tuesday but came away with a 7-6 win over Pana. Austwick came off the bench for the Bullets and had a big moment at the plate. He hit a walk-off two-run homer for the victory and finished 1-for-2 at the plate that day.
Caleb Cox (Lutheran High Baseball) The NIU commit had a dominate performance as the Crusaders rolled to a 15-0 win over Bunker Hill on Tuesday. Cox pitched two innings allowing just two walks and striking out six. He also went 2-for-2 at the plate with two runs scores and five RBIs including a grand slam. See the highlights of the win HERE.
Hannah Ferriell (TCSVMP Softball) A big pitching performance for Ferriell on Friday as the Tornadoes picked up a 4-0 win over Okaw Valley. Ferriell struck out 14 in seven innings pitched and allowed just one hit. She also went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the win. Highlights of a Tri City win over Athens earlier in the week HERE.
Quinten Hale (Glenwood Baseball) The Titans got conference play started with an exciting win over SHG on Tuesday. Tied at 7 in extra innings it was Hale with a two-run home run for the lead. Glenwood would go on to pick up the 9-7 victory in eight innings. Hale finished the game 3-for-5 at the plate, with two RBIs and two runs scored. Check out the go-ahead homer and more HERE.
Kadyn Harmony (Pleasant Plains Boys Track & Field) The Pleasant Plains junior was a multi event winner at the Springfield High Open on Saturday. Harmony won the 100 meter with a time of 11.08 seconds and the 200 meter with a time of 50.52 seconds. He was also a part of the Cardinals winning 4×100 team who finished in 43.94 seconds.
Ethan Hoagland (PORTA Baseball) PORTA picked up two victories this week with wins over Jacksonville and Southeast. In the win over the Crimsons, Hoagland went 3-for-4 with one run scored and four RBIs. He followed that performance up with three more hits and six RBIs win the win over Southeast. Irie Lohrenz (Glenwood Softball) The reigning state champs are off to an 8-0 start this season and are 2-0 in the CS8 after wins over SHG and Lincoln. Lohrenz was in the circle for the Titans against SHG on Tuesday and threw six n0-hit innings as she finished with a complete game shutout. The senior allowed just two hits and struck out seven in the 5-0 victory. See the highlights HERE.
Ella Plumb (Williamsville Girls Soccer) The Bullets picked up two big wins last week. Williamsville started the week with a come back win over QND on Tuesday. Then, in a Sangamo win over Auburn on Wednesday it was Plumb who scored four goals. Highlights of that victory HERE.
Peyton Purves (Rochester Softball) Rochester had a busy week with five victories including three at the Tornado Slam on Saturday. Purves had a big week as she went a combined 11-for-18 in the five wins. She drove in 14 runs and scored seven runs during that stretch of games.
Emma Sabatka (Pleasant Plains Girls Soccer) The Cardinals are 7-0 this season and earned their first conference victory of the season on Friday with a 4-0 win over Williamsville. In that victory it was Sabatka in goal with four saves and a shutout victory. Highlights HERE.
