Trinity in Taylorville Prime Time Performer: April 20-25

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

The winner will receive a $20 gift card to Dublin Pub.

Gift cards will be mailed to the school office at the end of each month.

Ashlyn Chopra (Glenwood Girls Track & Field) The Titans traveled to Distant Night at Palatine on Saturday evening and Chopra picked up a victory. The senior raced in the girls two mile undercard that night and led from start to finish for the win in 11:05.72.

Jaci Derringer (Athens Softball) The Warriors are one of two Sangamo teams who are unbeaten this season with a current 6-0 record. Derringer helped Athens pick up a 6-1 win over Pleasant Plains on the road as she drove in a run on a single in the top of the third for the lead. She finished with two hits and 2 RBIs in the victory. Check out the highlights of the win HERE.

Ethan Hoagland (PORTA Baseball) The Bluejays were down 9-1 against the Bullets on Thursday and fought back for the 10-9 victory. PORTA was down one with one out and bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh when Hoagland come up with a walk-off single for the win. He finished the game with three hits and two RBIs.

Riley Holloway (New Berlin Softball) The senior leadoff hitter had a big week as the Pretzels played six games. Holloway collected 12 hits in those games and scored nine runs. She also finished the week with 13 stolen bases. Seven of those stolen bases came in a win over West Central on Friday as she collected four hits and scored five times.

Ryan Kessler (Auburn Baseball) What’s better than one grand slam in a week? Two! Kessler came up big for the Trojans with two grand slams in two separate games late in the week. The first came in an 8-5 win over Olympia on Thursday as he extended the lead in the fourth inning . The second came in the first inning against Lutheran as he got Auburn on the board in the 9-6 win on Saturday.

Colten Knoedler (Glenwood Baseball) A big day for the Glenwood senior as the Titans picked up a 16-6 win over Rochester on Tuesday. Knoedler hit a grand slam in the 5th inning and followed that up with a three-run homer in the sixth. The LLCC commit finished with eight RBIs on the two hits and a walk. Irie Lohrenz (Glenwood Softball) It was a walk-off victory for the Titans on Tuesday to stay unbeaten in CS8 play. Down two entering the bottom of the seventh Glenwood tied the game then Lohrenz came to the plate and hit a walk-off single with two on for the 3-2 victory. The senior also struck out 12 in seven innings pitched. Check out the highlights of the win HERE.

Alexander Ratz (Springfield High Boys Track & Field) The Senators won the Lanphier Invite on Saturday at Memorial Stadium. The senior was one of four Senators to pick up an individual win as he won the 1600 meter in 4:37.99.

Emma Selhime (Pawnee Softball) The Indians are 11-3 this season and picked up a 4-1 win in extra innings over Pleasant Plains on Monday. Selhime got Pawnee on the board in the game with an RBI double as she also scored one run in the game. See highlights of the victory HERE.

Tristan Stanton (Rochester Boys Track & Field) The Rochester boys won the Rocket Invite on Friday and Stanton picked up two individual and two relay victories to help lead the way. The senior won long jump (22′ 5″) and triple jump (45′ 7″). He also was a part of the Rocket’s 4×100 victory in 42.96 seconds and the 4×400 victory in 3:31.28.  See highlight from the Rocket Invite HERE.

Callie Wagner (Pleasant Plains Girls Soccer) The Cardinals are now 14-0-1 this season and picked up a 2-1 victory over Springfield High on Friday. Wagner was the difference as she scored the go-ahead goal with 19 minutes to play. Check out the highlights from a matchup between two of the top teams in the area HERE.

Grace Webb (Rochester Girls Soccer) Rochester held Springfield High to a tie on Thursday in Central State Eight action. Webb made 12 saves in goal and kept the Rockets in it as Mary Jane Keller scored the game tying goal. Highlights of the CS8 matchup HERE.

Kenzie Wieland (Sacred Heart Griffin Softball) A big pitching performance from Wieland on Wednesday as the Cyclones picked up an 8-0 victory over Jacksonville. Wieland threw a full seven innings allowing no hits and just one walk. She struck out 18 in the no-hit performance and went 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI.

Peyton Zeidler (Rochester Girls Track & Field) Back on the list this week as she helped lead the Rockets to a team victory at the Rocket invite. Zeidler won both long jump (18′ 1″) and triple jump (38′ 2.75″) while breaking her own school record in long jump. The junior also picked up a win in the 100 hurdles (16.77 seconds) and helped Rochester win the 4×400 relay as the team finished in 4:09.16. See some highlight from the invite HERE.
