Trinity in Taylorville Prime Time Performer: October 6-11

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

The winner will receive a $20 gift card to Dublin Pub.

Gift cards will be mailed to the school office at the end of each month.

Brody Allen (Normal U-High Boys Golf) The Pioneers won a 2A state title on Saturday on a fifth golfer tie breaker. Allen was U-High’s top finished with a second place individual finish as he shot a 140 in the two day tournament. He finished one over in the first round on Friday and a three under in the second round on Saturday.

Luke Baxter (Glenwood Boys Soccer) The Titans won a CS8 title last week with a draw against U-High and a win over Springfield High. In the draw against the Pioneers it was Baxter who scored the Glenwood goal. He also scored a goal in the 3-0 conference title game victory against the Senators. George Bailey (South Fork Football) South Fork got the win in a battle of unbeatens on Saturday against Pawnee. Bailey rushed for 300 yards and six touchdowns in the 42-19 victory that you can see highlights of HERE.

Klaire Eighner (Maroa Forsyth Girls Cross Country) The Maroa Forsyth senior won the individual conference title on Saturday at Olympia High School. Eighner finished with a time of 17:54.97 to go back-to-back at the conference meet. See highlights of the girls conference race HERE.

Lydia Hart (Athens Volleyball) The Warriors look to win a conference title this week as they start off the week unbeaten in Sangamo play. In a two set win over New Berlin last week it was Hart leading the way with 15 kills and nine digs. In a three set victory over Riverton she had 20 kills, seven digs, three assists, and an ace. Lucas Hollinshead (Williamsville Boys Cross Country) After a second place finish at the conference meet last year Hollinshead picked up the individual conference title this season. The junior finished in 15:33.84 and you can see highlights of the boys conference race HERE.

Will O’Brien (PORTA Football) For the second straight year the PORTA Bluejays won the Blacktop Braggin Rights game against Athens with a 22-18 victory. O’Brien scored all three touchdowns for the Bluejays in the win with the go ahead score coming with 1:25 left in the game. See those touchdowns and more HERE.

Demetrius Roberson (Sacred Heart Griffin Football) The Cyclones picked up a 56-33 win over Springfield High on Friday night to claim the CS8 West conference title. Roberson came up with a big play late in the first half with a blocked punt return touchdown to go up two scores at halftime. You can see highlights of the SHG win HERE.

Kolin Simpson (Olympia Football) Olympia earned a big 50-35 win over the #1 ranked Maroa Forsyth Trojans on Friday night. The senior quarterback rushed for 113 yards and four touchdowns in the victory as Olympia moves to 4-2 this season. Check out a couple of those touchdowns HERE.

Laney Snow (Normal U-High Volleyball) The Normal U-High Pioneers remain unbeaten in Sangamo conference play thanks to a win over SHG last week. In that victory it was Snow who collected 11 digs and 11 kills. The Pioneers will travel to Chatham to take on another conference unbeaten, Glenwood, on Tuesday. Kinley Stolte (Nokomis Volleyball) Nokomis remains undefeated this season as they current sit at 25-0 as of Monday. The Redskins picked up a 2-0 win over Pawnee last week and in that victory it was Stolte helping to lead the way with 17 assists, four aces, four digs, two kills and one block. Ellie Surges (Glenwood Girls Tennis) Surges won the individual CS8 tennis title on Saturday and helped lead the Titans to a team title. Surges picked up the title win over teammate Lydia Ryhead with a 6-2, 6-2 victory. Glenwood won the team title with a total of 28 points.
