Cade Cunningham (Normal U-High Football) The Pioneers secured a spot in the postseason with their sixth win in a 49-28 victory over Lincoln on Friday night. In the victory Cunningham had four receptions for 124 yards and a touchdown. See some highlights of the win HERE.

Levi Davis (South Fork Football) A big football game on Saturday as the South Fork Ponies took on the Pawnee Indians for the first ever Coal Miner’s Cup trophy. On the defensive side of the ball, Davis had two interceptions. While on offense he had two catches for 57 yards and a touchdown. See the highlights of the 34-6 victory HERE.

Cameron France (MacArthur Football) The MacArthur Generals picked up a fifth win on Friday with a 45-27 win over Sacred Heart Griffin. France threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns while running for 103 yards and two more touchdowns. Highlights of the CS8 win HERE.

Tra’von Hall (Southeast Football) The Spartans picked up a win over Lanphier on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium. Hall went 11 for 15 in the air for 241 yards and five touchdowns to help secure the City and Central State Eight conference win.

Mason Hart (Normal U-High Boys Cross Country) The Pioneers are Central State Eight champs! On Saturday in Jacksonville, Hart helped lead the team to the victory by winning the individual title with a time of 14:55.96. U-High had six of the top seven finishers. Check out the highlights HERE.

Becca Heitzig (Lincoln Girls Cross Country) Heitzig is a conference champ after picking up the first place finish at the Central State Eight meet. In Jacksonville on Saturday, she finished with a time of 16:33.72. Highlights of the win HERE.

Riley Holliday (Williamsville Volleyball) The Bullets are conference champs and wrapped up a 9-0 Sangamo record this week. In the match to secure the conference championship on Tuesday, Holliday had 20 assists, one block and two aces in the win over Illini Central. On Thursday against New Berlin, she had 17 assists, eight digs and another block. Highlights against Illini Central HERE and New Berlin HERE.

Sydney McAfee (Pleasant Plains Volleyball) The Cardinals have a new all time kills leader in Pleasant Plains. McAfee set the new school record on Tuesday night against New Berlin after picking up her 819th kill on the volleyball court.

Nolan Mrozowski (Rochester Football) The Rockets got a big win on Friday night with a 63-21 victory over Glenwood. Mrozowski scored the first Rochester touchdown of the night and finished with 147 yards and five touchdowns on 10 carries. Check out the highlights of the CS8 victory HERE.

Vincent Pratt (Springfield High Boys Soccer) Springfield High moved to 20-2 on the season with wins over SHG and Quincy last week. In the victory over SHG, Pratt scored two goals then added another in the win over Quincy. Highlights of the SHG win HERE and Quincy win HERE.

Ella Sandgren (Maroa Forsyth Girls Tennis) Some tennis sectionals were able to finish on Saturday despite the weather conditions. One of those being the 1A Morton Sectional where Sandgren picked up a singles sectional title. She defeated Metamora’s Lexi Burton in the title match with a 6-1,6-0 victory.

Meena Taylor (Lutheran High Volleyball) Taylor helped lead the Crusaders to a big MSM win over Lincolnwood on Thursday night. She had 32 assists, 21 digs and three aces in the 2-1 victory to keep Lutheran in the conference race. You can see highlights of the game HERE.
