Trinity In Taylorville Prime Time Performer: May 8-13

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

Rylann Law (Glenwood Girls Soccer) The Titans have claimed the Central State Eight title outright. A 4-1 victory over Springfield High helped secure the title for Glenwood with three of those goals coming from Law. She scored all three in a four minute span of game time. The hat trick also gave Law the record for most goals in a season at Glenwood. Highlights of the record breaking performance HERE.

Karsyn Jacoby (Athens Girls Soccer) A big night for Athens as they won their first soccer regional title in school history. The win came in a 1-0 victory over St Thomas More and Jacoby was the lone goal scorer. The Warriors head to the Williamsville sectional this week. See the highlights of the title game HERE.

Krish Khurana  (Springfield High Boys Tennis) Springfield High picked up the Central State Eight title on Saturday after winning the doubles and singles brackets. Khurana was the singles champion winning the final match 6-2, 6-2 over Mahmood of Glenwood. Highlights of the conference tournament HERE.

Jaden Saunders (Glenwood Boys Track & Field) Not only did Glenwood host the Central State Eight boys track and field meet on Wednesday, they won the title. Saunders is heading to the next level to run track at Illinois College and was also a part of multiple winning relay teams at the conference meet. The winning relays were the 4×100 (42.88) and 4×200 (1:30.76) while Glenwood also picked up a second place finish in the 4×400 (3.27.47). Highlights of the CS8 meet HERE.

Ella Wilcockson (Pleasant Plains Girls Soccer) The Cardinals started the postseason with a regional title. Wilcockson scored two goals in Pleasant Plains’ 5-0 victory over Beardstown on Saturday at North Mac. With the win, they advance to the 1A Riverton sectional this week. Ava Hancock (Sacred Heart Griffin Girls Soccer) The Cyclones are regional champs! They claimed the title with a 4-2 victory over reigning state champ, Quincy Notre Dame, on Friday at Ken Leonard Field. Hancock was a part of two important goals in the first half. She assisted on the Isabella Perryman goal to take the lead under 10 minutes into the game. Hancock then had a goal late in the first half to put SHG up 3-1. Bethany Luce (Williamsville Girls Soccer) Williamsville won a regional title on their home turf on Friday and will stay home for the sectional this week. Luce, a senior captain, scored the second goal of that night for the Bullets as Williamsville wins 4-0 against Monticello. Highlights of the win HERE.

Teagan Galloway (Pleasant Plains Girls Track & Field) The Cardinals are heading to state! Pleasant Plains wins the 1A Rushville sectional last week and Galloway was a part of multiple winning relays that night. She was a part of the winning 4×400 (4:12.28) and the 4×800 (10:07.44). She also finished third in the 400m (1:04.93) and sixth in high jump (1.48m).

Mia Volpert (Springfield High Softball) The Senators have a big week this week as they could force a three way share of the conference title. Last Wednesday, against Rochester, Volpert led things at the plate and in the circle. She went 3-3 with five RBIs and four runs score while throwing four innings, allowing one hit and one run in the win.

Jade Thompson (Jacksonville Girls Track and Field) The Crimsons are sending an athlete to state in discus this week. Thompson won the event at the Bethalto Civic Memorial sectional last week with a throw of 32.67 meters.
