The Weather (Mother Nature) The rain, wind and cold had a dominating performance last week. It seems as if more games got cancelled or postponed then fully played. Hopefully it warms up, the suns come out and games can be played as scheduled soon.

In 2A she picked up wins in the 800 with a time of 2:11.77 and the 1600 with a time of 5:02.21. Watch out for Heitzig throughout the track season and see some highlights of the meet HERE.

Adan Nieves (Rochester Baseball) The Rockets started their Central State Eight schedule with a win at SHG over the Cyclones on Wednesday. In the 7-4 victory, Nieves put Rochester ahead 2-1 in the 4th with a two RBI single and the Rockets didn’t look back from there. See the highlights of the victory HERE.

On Thursday against Hartsburg Emden, she pitched three innings, allowing no hits and striking out nine. On Saturday against Carrollton, she threw seven innings, allowing three hits and striking out nine in the 4-0 win. She also had seven hits over three games. Highlights of the win on Thursday HERE.

Katelyn Lehnen (Glenwood Track & Field) Seems like her name is going to be on this list a lot during track season as she continues to pick up wins and break records. In the 3A 60 meter at the Illinois Top Times Championship in Bloomington she picked up another win with a time of 7.47 seconds.

Enrico Veach (Springfield High Baseball) Springfield High traveled to Jacksonville for a doubleheader on Wednesday and came home with two wins. He picked up a hit along with three walks and three RBIs at the plate plus he earned the Lite of the Night for a play at shortstop. Highlights of the Senator’s victory HERE.

Chloe Crawford (Southeast Girls Soccer) A hot start for Crawford and the Spartans on the soccer field this year. In a victory over Eisenhower she scored five goals. That put her at 10 goals through the first three games of the season. Look for more to come from Crawford this season.

Kyndel Moore (Riverton Girls Soccer) Riverton picked up a win last week over St Teresa as Moore led the Hawknadoes with a big game. She started off with an assist then picked up three goals for the hat trick in the 4-0 victory.
