Richard Jackson (Sacred Heart Griffin Football) The Cyclones are heading to Champaign! SHG came back from a 28-0 deficit to win the 4A semifinal 56-42 against Rochester. Jackson rushed for 102 yards and three touchdowns, including a 51 yard TD to give SHG the lead in the fourth. Highlights of the game HERE.

Keeton Reiss (Rochester Football) Big games mean big performances. The Rockets went up 28-0 before eventually falling in the 4A semifinal to SHG. Reiss had three of the first four touchdowns to help build that lead. He finished the game with 102 rushing yards and four touchdowns with 199 yards through the air. Aiden Riser (Maroa Forsyth Football) Add another record to Riser’s impressive career at Maroa Forsyth. The Trojans fell to Downs Tri-Valley in a 2A semifinal on Saturday but Riser set a new single season record for tackles with 154. He also scored a defensive touchdown in the loss when he recovered a fumble in the endzone. See that touchdown HERE.

Joshua Cates (Williamsville Football) The Bullets are onto the State Finals in Champaign on Friday! Williamsville held Tolono Unity scoreless after the Rockets scored with 10:05 left in the first then scored two touchdowns in the second half for the 12-7 victory. The defense stood strong multiple times but the play of the game belongs to Cates who broke up a Unity pass in the end zone with a minute to play to secure the victory. Cassie Cox (PORTA Girls Basketball) The Bluejays opened their season last week at the Turkey Tussle Tourney. In a comeback win against Mt Pulaski, Cox led the team with 15 points. Highlights of the win HERE.

Kaylen Reed (Rochester Girls Basketball) Another career milestone for Reed. The Rockets opened the Taylorville Thanksgiving Tournament 2-0 including a 46-37 win over Mt Zion in which Reed scored her 1,000 career point.

Maggie Fleischli (Sacred Heart Griffin Girls Basketball) SHG has a 3-0 record to start the season after three wins at the Galesburg Thanksgiving Tournament. Fleischli scored 40 points over the three games including a game high 12 in a 35-22 win against Quincy. See some highlights of the Cyclones win over Peoria Richwoods HERE.

Jenna Bowman (Lincoln Girls Basketball) The Railers are out to a hot start with a big win over Rochester on Tuesday and a win over Gillespie in the Pana Thanksgiving Tournament on Saturday. Bowman hit nine 3s in the victory over Gillespie and scored a game high 37 points. Highlights of the Lincoln win over Rochester HERE.

Grace Davis (Mt Pulaski Girls Basketball) The Hilltoppers picked up a win Monday night over Riverton to open the season. Davis helped lead the team as she scored 15 points in the 52-25 victory. Checkout the highlights of the win HERE.
