Trinity In Taylorville Prime Time Performer: September 20-25

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

Brady Kauffman (Jacksonville Golf) The Central State Eight boys golf tournament was last Wednesday and Kauffman walked away as medalist. He shot a 75 just three stokes ahead of the second place finisher.

Ja’Kyan Shanklin (Athens Football) The Warriors and Hawks racked up the points on Friday in Riverton. Athens came out on top 86-51 with Shanklin scoring five touchdowns on his own. He had 371 yards on the ground and on the defensive side of the ball had one sack.

Kaylen Reed (Rochester Volleyball) The Rockets got a big conference win over Springfield High last week and a big non-conference win over Pleasant Plains. Reed was an essential part of both wins as she racked up 19 digs against the Senators and 16 digs against the Cardinals.

Cameron Frye (Williamsville Soccer) Frye just keeps scoring goals. He has already made the list multiple times this year for a couple hat tricks but this maybe the best performance yet. Against North Mac last Monday he scored four times in the first 17 minutes of the game and finished with five in the 7-0 Bullet victory.

Talin Kern (Auburn Football) Auburn hosted Pleasant Plains for their homecoming game on Friday. Kern had four touchdown, two rushing and two passing with 110 yards passing.

Ethan Sommers (Springfield High Cross Country) The Senators hosted the Springfield Invite at Lincoln Park on Saturday and the boys won the team title. Sommers was the top finisher for the Senators in sixth place with a time of 16:48.

Austin Adcock (Rochester Football) Rocket Booster Stadium was busy Friday night as the Rockets celebrated homecoming, senior night and hosted Springfield High. Adcock was a play maker on both sides of the ball as he picked up three touchdowns, had four solo tackles including a combined sack with Schaller and an interception.

Ava Hillyer (SHG Volleyball) The Cyclones are City champs for the seventh year in a row. The exciting game with Springfield High went three sets with plenty of hard hits. The freshman was a huge part of the victory including four straight serves in the first set.

Kevin Howell (New Berlin Football) The Pretzels picked up their first win Friday with a 35-6 victory over PORTA. Howell had 187 totals yards and two touchdowns in the game including a 69 yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Drew Herman (Springfield High Soccer) The Senators had a big Central State Eight with Rochester last week. It was a low scoring affair as Herman had the only goal of the game to give Springfield High the victory.

Dustin Johnson (Williamsville Football) The big Sangamo matchup between the Bullets and Maroa Forsyth Trojans took place in Williamsville Friday night. Johnson had a big game and came up with an important sack in the fourth quarter to stop Maroa from tying the game.

Rachel Behrens (Glenwood Cross Country) Glenwood competed in the Springfield Invite at Lincoln Park on Saturday and the girls won the team title. Behrens lead the Titans with a fifth place finish with a time of 19:09.

Jake Ferguson (North Mac Football) North Mac is rolling and preparing for a big game with Williamsville this week but last Friday they got the win over Pittsfield 48-2. Ferguson rushed for 166 yards and three touchdown and had 54 receiving yards in the victory.
