The matchup between PORTA’s Trey Hild and QND’s Zach Haley didn’t happen in the regular season as many had hoped, but there will be no shortage of fireworks between the two over the next few weeks. Haley (39-0), who is ranked No. 2 at 145 pounds in Class 1A in the state according to Matmen, defeated Hild (42-1), No. 1 in the state, on Saturday with an 11-9 overtime decision.

PORTA’s Joe Burris (120 lb) was the lone Bluejays regional champion. Cameron Shockey (132 lb) and Will Heikes (195 lb) joined Hild as second place finishers. Those four advance to the Stanford Olympia, as do PORTA’s Johan Sinclair (113 lb), Johnathon Leoffler (160 lb) and Mason Feagans (170 lb) who each finished third.
