Prime Time Performer: September 25th – 30th

Here are this week’s candidates for Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

The winner will receive a $20 gift card to Mariah’s Restaurant.

Jeremiah Jackson (Williamsville Linebacker) Williamsville relied on their defense in Week 6. Their offense, which has scored 260 points, more than any other conference team this season, came up with just one touchdown against New Berlin. The Bullets defense picked up their offense, especially Jeremiah Jackson. The Williamsville senior picked off a Pretzel pass in impressive fashion and returned it for a 65 yard touchdown and that proved to be the difference in the game to keep the Bullets undefeated.

Carson Reese (New Berlin Defensive Back) New Berlin’s defense had an impressive showing on Friday, holding the league’s best offense to just one offensive touchdown. The Pretzels defense came up with their only score of the game and it was Carson Reese who got the job down. One of his three interceptions on the night was a pick six for the junior wide receiver/defensive back.

Jubbar Cross (Glenwood Running Back) He told us he was finally healthy last week when we filmed his Ten Question Tuesday. On Friday, he proved he wasn’t lying. Cross ran all over Eisenhower, racking up 223 yards on the ground and scoring four times in the process. When Cross is healthy, that offense is truly dangerous with Lehnen and Hembrough as the other options.

Lucas Rockford (Springfield Quarterback) Needing to bounce back in a big way, Lucas Rockford put the team on his back in Week 6. A city rivalry game with playoff implications at stake meant the Senators needed their quarterback to step up and he did. Rockford threw for four touchdowns and ran for another to lead Springfield High to a running clock win over Lanphier.

Tremayne Lee (SHG Running Back) No stranger to Prime Time Performer and no stranger to the end zone, Tremayne Lee is back and looks completely healthy at just the right time for the Cyclones. The SIU bound running back powered his way to 243 yards and four scores on just seven touches against Southeast. That’s a pretty good way to celebrate homecoming.

Destin Chance (Auburn Quarterback) The Auburn Trojans scored seven touchdowns against Riverton. Destin Chance was responsible for every single one of those. The junior quarterback is making a case for becoming the top guy picked in fantasy football every single week with his video game numbers. Chance completed 18 of 21 passes for 390 yards in the air.

Cade Eddington (Rochester Wide Receiver) Big time players, make big time plays, in big time games. You hear that all the time after incredible performances and that’s how we would describe Cade Eddington’s game against MacArthur. The junior wide receiver had eight catches for 128 yards and two touchdowns, including the first and the last of the game for the Rockets. Eddington also forced an Amir Brummett fumble and recovered it in the third quarter to help put the game away on defense.

Kai Carlberg (Pleasant Plains Wide Receiver) Pleasant Plains continues their playoff push this season by grinding out tough, close wins. The Cardinals went to Virden and came away with a victory, no matter how you do it, that’s impressive. Wide receiver Kai Carlberg set the tone on the first play from scrimmage, scoring an 85 yard touchdown on a great play from Ben Reinert. Carlberg also had a 26 yard score later in the first half and Plains won by one score.

Ethan McWhorter (PORTA Running Back) The Bluejays got their second win of the season and it came in shutout fashion. PORTA was able to pound away at Pittsfield and a big reason why was Ethan McWhorter who racked up 150 yards and two touchdowns on the ground in a four score game.

Karlie Schnepp (Rochester Golf) It’s not often a freshman appears on Prime Time Performer this time of year, but Rochester golfer Karlie Schnepp earned it by winning medalist honors at the CS8 girls golf tournament last week. Schnepp shot a two over 74 at Piper Glenwood to win the tournament by one stroke and help the Rockets finish in third place overall as a team.
