Trinity in Taylorville Prime Time Performer: February 3-8

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

The winner will receive a $20 gift card to Dublin Pub.

Gift cards will be mailed to the school office at the end of each month.

Parker Cloyd (Lutheran High Boys Basketball) The Crusaders picked up two big conference wins last week against Pawnee and Bunker Hill. Cloyd helped lead Lutheran to those victories and he also had a big game in a 61-31 win over Griggsville Perry on Saturday. Cloyd scored 23 points and picked up 12 rebounds in that victory.

Dylam Eimer (Olympia Wrestling) The Spartans won a regional title on Saturday at home. Eimer picked up the 113 pound individual title as Olympia hosted the regional. He moves to 37-4 this season following a title match win thanks to a technical fall (20-4).

Aiden Frye (Lincoln Wrestling) The Lincoln Railers will compete at the Lincoln sectional next weekend after picked up a regional title in Bloomington on Saturday. Frye was one of the Railers champions as he picked up a fall at 17 seconds in the 165 pound title match.

Carter Hunley (Auburn Boys Basketball) A milestone moment for the Auburn senior on Tuesday as he scored his 1,000th point. The milestone moment came in the second quarter as Hunley scored 10 points in the game.

Antione Hunter (Calvary Boys Basketball) The Saints traveled to Edinburg on Tuesday night and took home an 85-66 MSM win. Hunter had a double double in the victory as he scored 28 points and picked up 19 rebounds, eight of which were offensive boards. Highlights of that performance and the Calvary win HERE.

Sean Lee (MacArthur Boys Basketball) The Generals got out to a hot start against Rochester on Friday night on their way to a 8-1 CS8 record and the conference title. Lee was MacArthur’s leading scorer in the 57-27 victory with 29 points. He scored 17 points in the first half. You can see highlights of the victory HERE.

Griffin McClure (PORTA Boys Basketball) The Bluejays are one of two remaining unbeaten teams in the Sangamo with a 5-0 record following wins over New Berlin and Riverton last week. McClure had a team high 20 points against the Pretzels with 16 of those points coming in the second half. He also scored a game high 23 points against Monticello at the Sangamo vs IPC Shootout on Saturday. Highlights of the win over New Berlin HERE and the win over Riverton HERE.

Cody Moss (Glenwood Wrestling) The Titans won another regional title over the weekend at the Civic Memorial regional. Moss picked up an individual title with a fall at 5:19 in the title match of the 285 pound bracket. That win moved Moss to 32-5 this season. Highlights of Glenwood’s regional win HERE.

Alyson Murphy (Mt Pulaski Girls Basketball) The Hilltoppers picked up a 67-53 win over Auburn last week as Murphy led Mt Pulaski with a game high 36 points.

Alexis Neumann (Glenwood Girls Basketball) The Titans picked up a share of the CS8 title on Saturday with a 52-37 win over Southeast. Neumann finished with a double double in the victory as she picked up a game high 13 points and 11 rebounds. See highlights of the win HERE.

Brayden Saling (Williamsville Boys Basketball) The Bullets moved to 5-0 in the Sangamo last week with wins over Athens and Pleasant Plains. In the victory over Plains on Friday night it was Saling who led the way with 15 points. Seven of those points came in the fourth as he also went 5-for-6 at the free throw line to help seal the win. Cooper Schallenberg (Pleasant Plains Boys Basketball) The Cardinals got last week started with a big win over Auburn in Sangamo action as Plains picked up the 51-43 victory. Schallenberg helped build a lead with 16 points in the opening quarter and would go on to finish with a team high 18 points. The senior also scored 17 on Friday as the Cardinals fell to Williamsville. Highlights of the conference win against Auburn HERE.

Jackson Vinzant (Glenwood Swimming) Glenwood won the Central State Eight title over the weekend in the conference meet at Eisenhower Pool. Vinzant helped lead the way for the Titans with individual wins in the 200 freestyle (1:54.89) and the 100 backstroke (58.87). He was also a part of the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:32.25) and the 400 freestyle relay (3:34.53). See highlights of the CS8 meet HERE.

Justin Zimmerman (PORTA Wrestling) The Bluejays are regional champions for the first time since 2015. PORTA picked up the win at the Peoria Notre Dame regional over the weekend. Zimmerman was one of many individual champions as he picked up the victory in the 157 pound bracket. His title win came with a fall at 46 seconds and moved Zimmerman to 38-8 this season.
