LLCC: Logger Softball Scores 35 In Conference Doubleheader

Game 1 – John Wood

Allie Dolenc drove in five runs on two hits to lead the Loggers Softball 2024 past John Wood CC 14-0 on Sunday. Dolenc doubled in the first inning, scoring three runs, and doubled in the fourth inning, scoring two. Destiny Loeb, Dolenc, and Macy Pierce at the bottom of the Loggers lineup combined for six of the team’s 12 hits in their victory. They scored six runs and drove in nine. The Loggers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Sage Carr doubled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Dolenc doubled, scoring three runs, Loeb singled, scoring two runs, and Sydney Glick grounded out, scoring one run.

The Loggers scored one run in the bottom of the second on a solo home run to left field by Haley Willan. The Loggers extended their early lead with three runs in the bottom of the third thanks to RBI doubles by Loeb and Carr. Kaylee Yost earned the win for the Loggers. The starting pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out nine and walking four. Blair took the loss for John Wood CC. They went four innings, allowing 14 runs (11 earned) on 12 hits, striking out one and walking two. Bailey Teasley threw one inning of shutout ball for the Loggers in relief. They allowed one hit, striking out one and walking none.

The Loggers tallied 12 hits in the game. Loeb, Dolenc, Pierce, and Carr each collected two hits for the Loggers. The Loggers stole four bases in the game. The Loggers were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Emmy Renfro had the most chances in the field with nine.

Boschert and Aidich were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for John Wood CC. Lubbert paced John Wood CC with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, amassing four walks for the game.

Game 2 – John Wood

Bridgette Royer collected four hits in four at bats, as the Loggers defeated John Wood CC 21-0 on Sunday. Royer tripled in the first inning, hit a solo home run to center field in the fourth inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the third inning.

The Loggers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Haley Willan singled, scoring one run, Ryleigh Davidson singled, scoring two runs, Royer tripled, scoring two runs, Amelia Telger singled, scoring one run, Destiny Loeb tripled, scoring one run, Charlie Hayes tripled, scoring one run, and Kaylee Yost singled, scoring one run. A double by Andee Brown, a single by Hannah Myers, and a walk by Yost helped the Loggers extend their early lead in the second.

A single by Telger, a single by Hayes, and an error helped the Loggers extend their early lead in the third. Four more Loggers runs crossed the plate in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 21-0. Royer hit a solo home run to center field, Hayes drew a walk, scoring one run, Yost singled, scoring one run, and Willan singled, scoring one run.

Kylan Arndt earned the win for the Loggers. The right-handed pitcher surrendered two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking none. Bartels took the loss for John Wood CC. They went one and two-thirds innings, surrendering 13 runs (nine earned) on 13 hits, striking out one and walking one.

The Loggers collected 25 hits in the game. Loeb and Royer each collected four hits for the Loggers. Hayes led the Loggers with four runs batted in. The catcher went 3-for-3 on the day. Yost, Myers, Brown, Telger, Willan, and Davidson each collected multiple hits for the Loggers. The Loggers were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Hayes had the most chances in the field with seven.

Aidich and Arroyo each collected one hit for John Wood CC.

Next up for the Loggers is a game at St. Louis Community College on Wednesday.
