Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

Avery Braden (Maroa Forsyth Girls Basketball) The Trojans got an early Christmas present with a championship at the Meridian Holiday Express Tournament. In the title game victory, Braden scored 27 points and had seven steals. She averaged 19.7 points, 3 assists, 5 rebounds and 5.3 steals in the three game tournament. Henry Buecker (Rochester Boys Basketball) The Rockets picked up a big non-conference win in Pleasant Plains on Friday night with a 53-51 win over the Cardinals. It was Buecker with a game winning shot with two seconds left that helped secure the win for Rochester. Buecker finished the game with ten points.

Grant Dobson (Auburn Boys Basketball) A big win for the Auburn Trojans last week with a 64-52 win over the Calvary Saints. In the victory, Dobson led the way with a double double totaling 14 points and 11 rebounds. Auburn heads to the Waverly Holiday Tournament this week with a 10-1 record. Zayn Giles (Maroa Forsyth Boys Basketball) Maroa Forsyth got out to a 2-0 start in pool play at the St Teresa Christmas Tournament on Thursday and Friday. On Friday, in a big win over Judah Christian, it was Giles who finished with a double double of 14 points and 13 rebounds. Check out highlights against Unity Christian from Thursday night HERE.

Karlie Hoke (PORTA Girls Basketball) The Lady Jays stay unbeaten this season as they start pool play at the Riverton Christmas Tournament with a 3-0 record. Hoke had multiple double digit performances with 15 points against North Mac and 13 points versus Litchfield. She also went 7-for-7 from the field with 15 points against Pana. Alyvia Marrow (Illini Central Girls Basketball) The Illini Central Cougars are off to a good start this season with an 11-2 record. In a win over South Fork on Monday, it was Marrow that got things going early. She had three 3s in the first quarter and would finish with 15 points. Alyson Murphy (Mt Pulaski Girls Basketball) Another local team who is out to a 3-0 start at their holiday tournament is the Mt Pulaski Hilltoppers. At Riverton on Thursday and Friday Mt Pulaski picked up wins over Pawnee, Litchfield and Pana. Murphy scored 20 points in the win over Pana and 17 points against Litchfield.

Julian Rice (Riverton Boys Basketball) The Riverton Hawks got things started at the St Teresa Christmas Tournament with two wins on Thursday and Friday. In a win over Hartsburg Emden he scored 19 points before following that up the next day with 20 points in a win versus ALAH. Highlights of the win over Hartsburg-Emden can be seen HERE.

Brayden Saling (Williamsville Boys Basketball) Saling got out to a hot start for the Bullets against the North Mac Panthers on Thursday night. He had three 3s in the first and led the team with 21 points. That win made Coach Beard the all-time winningest coach in Williamsville Boys Basketball history. Anna Weber (Pleasant Plains Girls Basketball) Pleasant Plains got a go ahead bucket from Weber late in the game against Sacred Heart Griffin on Thursday. After rebounding her own shot, on a free throw, she put it back for two points and to put the Cardinals ahead. They would go on to win 33-30 over the Cyclones. Weber finished the game with 16 points.
