The UIS men’s team was represented at Indiana State’s Gibson Invitational by a pair of freshmen in the 1500 meters on Saturday.
Chase Cooley led the duo with a time of 4:08.16, while River Derby followed at 4:19.29 as both underclassmen gained valuable experience.
With the GLVC Championships approaching in two weeks, the qualifying standard in the 1500 is trending near the four-minute mark.
With one meet remaining before the postseason, several Prairie Stars appear firmly on track to qualify for the GLVC Championships. Official qualifiers will be announced the week of the meet.
