UIS Men’s Tennis Falls at UIndy, 6-1

The UIS men’s tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision at UIndy on Saturday afternoon, with its lone point coming at No. 1 singles.

In doubles play, UIndy secured the point despite a win by the Prairie Stars at No. 3. Lukas Pieringerand Antonio Ayerbe Streubel earned a 6-3 victory, while Pablo Herrera and Lin En Tan fell 6-3 at No. 1 and the No. 2 duo of Miran Todorovic and Kai Van-Roon dropped a 6-2 decision.

Pablo Herrera accounted for UIS’ only point with a strong comeback win at No. 1 singles, 2-6, 7-5, 6-4. At No. 2, Antonio Ayerbe Streubel fell 6-1, 6-2, and Lin En Tan dropped a three-set match at No. 3, 7-5, 4-6, 6-3. Kai Van-Roon was defeated 6-4, 6-1 at No. 4, Lukas Pieringer fell 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5, and Colton Pazdera dropped his match 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.

UIS opens GLVC play at 0-2 and will return home next weekend to host Maryville and UMSL.
