Illinois Springfield men’s tennis fell 5-2 to Campbellsville on Saturday in Owensboro, Ky. The Prairie Stars moved to 6-7 overall with the loss.
Campbellsville secured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. At No. 1, Pablo Herrera and Lin En Tan fell 7-6, while Lukas Pieringer and Antonio Ayerbe Streubel dropped a 7-5 decision. UIS picked up its lone doubles win at No. 2, where Miran Todorovic and Kai Van-Roon earned a 7-5 victory.
In singles, Pablo Herrera responded with a comeback win at No. 1, rallying past his opponent 3-6, 7-6, 6-0. Lin En Tan added a straight-set win at No. 3, 6-2, 6-4.
Campbellsville secured the overall match by taking the remaining singles courts. Antonio Ayerbe Streubel fell 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2, Kai Van-Roon dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision at No. 4, Miran Todorovicfell 6-3, 6-3 at No. 5, and Lukas Pieringer was defeated 6-3, 6-3 at No. 6.
Illinois Springfield returns to action Sunday against Kentucky Wesleyan at noon.
