Naveahua Collier (Southeast Girls Basketball) Collier recently reached a career milestone as the Spartans traveled to Chicago and took on Simeon. In 47-41 victory the junior scored her 1,000th career point. Southeast will celebrate that achievement on Wednesday as they host Glenwood.
Brody Folkes (Illini Central Boys Basketball) This senior has moved his way up the all time scorers list at Illini Central. Folkes scored 31 points in a win over Cornerstone last week and added 15 points in a loss to PORTA. That helped the senior move past former teammate David Bard for 5th all time at IC with 1,325 points.
Tereik Hurd (Sacred Heart Griffin Boys Basketball) The Cyclones picked up wins over Lanphier and Southeast at the City Tournament to earn a share of the title. Hurd averaged nearly 14 points per game to help lead the way for the Cyclones. His individual game high performance in the tournament was in a win over Lanphier with 18 points. The junior also picked up three steals in that win that you can see highlights of HERE.
Reed Martin (Mt Pulaski Boys Basketball) Mt Pulaski picked up a close win over Olympia last week and the sophomore had a big impact. In the 64-60 victory it was Martin who scored 20 points for the Hilltoppers. He also had eight points in a close loss to Delavan on Friday night.
Alyson Murphy (Mt Pulaski Girls Basketball) The Hilltoppers enter this week with a 20-0 record following an overtime win against Illini Bluffs last week. Murphy made the game tying shot late in regulation to force overtime in the 39-35 victory. The senior was also the teams leading scorer with 24 points. Highlights of the victory HERE.
Demond Porter Jr (Lanphier Boys Basketball) The Lanphier Lions picked up a big win on Saturday night to force a three way share of the City title. Porter had a big tournament as he averaged just over 15 points and six rebounds a game. He also had three steals in a victory over Southeast. Highlights of the Lion’s win over Springfield High HERE.
Aniyah Rhinehouse (Springfield High Girls Basketball) Springfield High is once again outright City Champions! The Senators earned the 2026 title on Saturday with a win over Southeast to finish 3-0 in the tournament. Rhinehouse helped lead the way for Springfield as she averaged 15 points and seven rebounds in the three games with an individual high of 19 points scored against Southeast. Garrett Timm (Williamsville Boys Basketball) The Bullets have a 6 game win streak going following wins over Riverton and Canton over the weekend. Timm was the teams leading scorer in both victories with 15 in the conference win over Riverton and 14 in the win over Canton at the Metamora Shootout. Noah Wade (Springfield High Boys Basketball) The Senators earned a share of the City Title over the weekend with wins over SHG and Southeast. Wade was Springfield’s leading scorer as he averaged nearly 20 points per game. He also collected 7 rebounds a game and had four assists in the win over SHG. Anna Weber (Pleasant Plains Girls Basketball) The Cardinals picked up wins over two 3A opponents last week to improve to 18-0 this season. They started the week with a 42-36 victory over Quincy Notre Dame and Weber helped lead the way with 14 points. She also had some key buckets late in a 43-38 win over Dunlap.
