Luke Blackford (Calvary Boys Basketball) A couple big wins for the Saints last week as Calvary picked up a 70-50 win over Pleasant Plains on Tuesday and a 46-33 win over Williamsville on Saturday. In the win over Plains the UIS commit scored 30 points including 13 in the third quarter. He then scored a double double on Saturday in the win over Williamsville with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Ava Bobb (Glenwood Girls Basketball) Glenwood is 5-2 this season and 2-0 in the conference following a win over Springfield High on Friday night. Bobb was the leading scorer for the Titans’ in their 52-34 victory with 20 points. See the highlights HERE.
Avery Braden (Maroa Forsyth Girls Basketball) The Maroa Forsyth senior became the Trojans girls all time leading scorer on Tuesday with a 23 points performance against Heyworth. She passed Deb Pope’s previous record of 1,465 that was set in 1992. Braden then scored 21 points against St Thomas More on Thursday and 26 against Meridian on Saturday to finish the week.
Cam Brinkman (Sacred Heart Griffin Boys Basketball) The Cyclones hosted Lincoln on Tuesday and picked up a 60-46 victory. Brinkman was the leading scorer with 21 points including five three pointers. He also was SHG’s leading scorer in a loss to MacArthur on Saturday with 12 points. Check out the highlights from the win over Lincoln HERE.
Kainin Fillbright (PORTA Wrestling) The Bluejays picked up a 42-32 win over Jacksonville in a dual last week. Fillbright picked up a win for PORTA at 120 pounds with a fall at 0:48. Highlights from the dual meet HERE.
Levi Hoagland (PORTA Boys Basketball) The Bluejays took to the floor at the BOS Center on Saturday and earned a 45-31 victory over Pawnee. Hoagland was named player of the game with 15 points, two rebounds, a block and an assist. You can see the highlights HERE.
Cameron Johnson (Normal U-High Boys Basketball) The Pioneers moved to 4-1 this season with a 45-28 win over Rochester on Saturday at the Capital City Showcase. Johnson led the way for U-High in the win with a double double of 18 points and 13 rebounds along with two steals. Highlights of the victory HERE.
Sean Lee (MacArthur Boys Basketball) The Generals are now 4-0 this season following a 58-40 win over Sacred Heart Griffin at the Capital City Showcase. In just 19 minutes of play time Lee scored 20 points while picking up eight rebounds and a steal. See highlights of the win HERE.
Hugo Lopp (Glenwood Boys Basketball) Another win for the Titans at the BOS Center as they competed at the Capital City Showcase. Lopp was named player of the game in the 46-33 victory over Taylorville with 18 points, five rebounds and a steal. Check out the highlights HERE.
Marcus Page (Eisenhower Boys Basketball) The Panthers picked up a 39-28 win over Southeast to kick off the CS8 conference games at the BOS Center on Saturday. Page had a big game for Eisenhower with 12 points and 11 rebounds along with 2 steals. We have highlights of the game HERE.
Aubrey Vogel (PORTA Girls Basketball) Three wins for the Lady Jays last week and Vogel had three big games in the process. She tallied 18 points plus four assists and three steals in a 50-34 win over Canton. Then she had nine points, six assists and three steals in a win over Jacksonville and 21 points, five assists and four steals in a win over North Mac.
Anna Weber (Pleasant Plains Girls Basketball) The Cardinals are now 5-0 this season and earned a 62-30 win over Bloomington Central Catholic on Thursday. Weber led the way with 23 points and you can see highlights of the win HERE.
