Trinity in Taylorville Prime Time Performer: November 3-8

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

The winner will receive a $20 gift card to Dublin Pub.

Gift cards will be mailed to the school office at the end of each month.

Liam Bettis (Taylorville Boys Cross Country) Bettis earned all state honors at the state meet at Detweiller Park on Saturday. Bettis was the top local finisher in the 2A boys race as he finished seventh in 14:27.91.

Alayna Briggs (Hartsburg Emden Volleyball) Hartsburg Emden won their third straight sectional title on Thursday night in New Berlin with a 2-0 victory over Unity Christian. In that win it was Briggs helping lead the way with 12 kills, nine digs, two aces and a block. Highlights of the win HERE.

Ashlyn Chopra (Glenwood Girls Cross Country) For the second time in three years the Titans are state champs! Glenwood won the 2A girls cross country title at Detweiller Park on Saturday with a score of 81 and three runners in the top seven. Chopra was the top finisher for the Titans in third with a time of 17:12.49 which also earned her all state honors. Highlights of the Glenwood win HERE.

Andrew Donelan (Williamsville Football) The Bullets are into a 3A quarterfinal following a 53-14 win over PORTA on Saturday. The senior had a big game on defense with seven solo tackles and two assists which included three tackles for loss. See highlights of the all Sangamo round two matchup HERE.

Klaire Eighner (Maroa Forsyth Girls Cross Country) The Michigan State commit earned all state honors at the state cross country meet at Detweiller Park on Saturday. Eighner was our top finisher in the 1A girls race with a sixth place finish in 16:49.52. See highlights HERE.

Olivia Kratochvil (Rochester Volleyball) After a crazy sectional semifinal win last Tuesday the Rockets won the 2A Beardstown Sectional on Thursday with a 2-0 win over Quincy Notre Dame. It was Kratochvil who helped lead the way with 17 kills, seven digs and one block. Check out the highlights of the victory HERE.

Brody Lush (South Fork Football) The South Fork Ponies will play for a trip to the 8-man state title game on Saturday after a 38-14 win over West Carroll over the weekend. In that win Lush had three interceptions on the defensive side of the ball while also catching one pass for 55 yards and throwing a pass for a two-point conversion. Zach Smith (Maroa Forsyth Trojans) Maroa Forsyth picked up 41-6 round two victory over Johnston City at Walter Boyd Field on Saturday. Smith caught five passes for 135 yards and a touchdown in the win. The senior also had 13 rushing yards. Highlights of the Trojans’ running clock victory HERE.

Laney Snow (Normal U-High Volleyball) The Pioneers are playing for a trip to state on Monday following a sectional title victory on Thursday night. U-High won the 3A Southeast Sectional with a 2-1 victory over Morton. Snow tallied 23 kills, 15 digs and two blocks in the win. See the highlights of the win HERE.

Nate Swaney (Rochester Football) The Rockets made the trip south to take on Waterloo on Friday night and brought home a 55-21 round two victory. Swaney had six catches for 112 yards and a touchdown in the win while also rushing for another score. On defense, Sawney broke up a couple passes as well. Elijah Teefey (Pleasant Plains Boys Cross Country) The Cardinals seniors wrapped up his high school cross country career on Saturday at Detweiller Park at the state meet. Teefey earned all state honors and was our top 1A boys finisher in fifth with a time of 14:49.02. Highlights of the race HERE.

Drew Ward (Sacred Heart Griffin Football) SHG welcomed Carterville to Ken Leonard Field on Saturday afternoon and picked up a 45-15 round two win. In that victory, Ward scored a touchdown and kicked a 44 yard field goal. He also finished the game with 96 receiving yards. Highlights of the win HERE.
