Trinity in Taylorville Prime Time Performer: May 5-10

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

The winner will receive a $20 gift card to Dublin Pub.

Gift cards will be mailed to the school office at the end of each month.

Khloe Chenoweth (Olympia Softball) The Spartans clinched a share of the Sangamo title on Thursday with an 8-1 win over PORTA. Chenoweth led the way at the plate for Olympia going 3-4 while driving in four and scoring a run. Highlights of that conference clinching win HERE.

Kamryn Hoffman (Springfield High Girls Soccer) The Springfield High Senators clinched their first outright CS8 girls soccer title since 2014 last week. They finished off the conference schedule with a 6-1 win over Rochester on Tuesday. Hoffman scored two goals in the victory while adding an assist. She also scored her 100th career goal in a win over Champaign Central on Friday. Check out the highlights of the CS8 title clinching win HERE.

Irie Lohrenz (Glenwood Softball) A battle of two of the top teams in the state took place in Chatham on Saturday as the Titans hosted Carterville. In the first game of a doubleheader, Lohrenz threw a one hit shutout. The junior pitched all seven innings for the win and struck out eight. See highlights of the victory HERE.

Sean Lowder (Pleasant Plains Baseball) Pleasant Plains hosted SHG on Monday in a matchup of two of the top 2A teams in the state. Lowder earned the win on the mound with seven innings pitched. He allowed just four hits and one earned run in the 2-1 Cardinals victory. Highlights of the Plains win HERE.

Anna Nestler (Pleasant Plains Softball) The Cardinals battled with the Tornadoes on Thursday for eleven innings before earning the 7-6 win. Nestler picked up the win in the circle as she allowed just one earned run in eleven innings pitched. She also struck out seven in the game. At the plate she drew two walks including a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the eleventh for the win. Check out the highlights of the game HERE.

Mekhi Newman (Springfield High Boys Track & Field) Four wins is a good way to help lead your team to a Boys City Track & Field title. Newman did just that on Tuesday at Ramsey Track. He earned individual wins in the 100 meter (11.11), 200 meter (22.03) and the 400 meter (48.77). He was a part of the winning 4×400 team (3:26.30). See the highlights from the 2025 City meet HERE.

Hannah Safranek (Normal U-High Girls Track & Field) The Pioneers won the Central State Eight girls track & field title on Thursday in Chatham. Safranek had a busy day competing in four events. She picked up a first place finish in the 100 hurdles (14.81) and a second place finish in the 200 meter. She was also a part of the winning 4×100 team (47.94) and 4×200 team (1:42.90). Elijah Teefey (Pleasant Plains Boys Track & Field) The Pleasant Plains boys track and field team won the Sangamo conference championship on their home track on Tuesday. Teefey helped lead the team to victory with two individual wins. His first victory came in the 3200 meter in 10:41.43 then he later picked up a win in the 1600 meter in 4:32.97. Mia Volpert (Springfield High Softball) An impressive outing for the Springfield High senior on Friday against Pawnee. Volpert accounted for all the outs thanks to 21 strikeouts. She also earned the win with seven innings pitched and no earned runs allowed in a 10-4 Springfield victory.

Madison Yazel (Maroa Forsyth Girls Track & Field) The Trojans are the 2025 Sangamo Girls Track & Field Champs. Yazel was a part of three wins for Maroa Forsyth on Tuesday at the conference meet on Tuesday. She finished first in the 100 meter (12.47) and the 200 meter (26.21). Yazel was also on the first place 4×100 relay team (49.90) and the third place 4×200 team. Highlights of the Sangamo track and field meet HERE.
