Trinity in Taylorville Prime Time Performer: March 17-22

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

The winner will receive a $20 gift card to Dublin Pub.

Gift cards will be mailed to the school office at the end of each month.

Andy Antonacci (Sacred Heart Griffin Baseball) SHG is off to a 4-0 start this season. The Cyclones picked up a 7-1 win over Williamsville on Friday afternoon. Antonacci went 2-3 at the plate with a three-run homer. He also pitched four innings and allowed one earned run while striking out ten. You can see highlights of that win HERE.

Nash Donnan (PORTA Baseball) The PORTA Bluejays hosted Lewistown on Friday and Doonan threw a complete game shutout. In the 2-0 victory he threw a full seven innings allowing just three hits and no runs while striking out nine.

Tori Elvidge (Lincolnwood Softball) A big performance from Elvidge on Friday as Lincolnwood picked up a 9-0 win over Taylorville. Elvidge threw a no-hitter in the victory as she struck out 15 and allowed just one walk in the seven innings pitched. She also picked up a hit and three walks at the plate in the win.

Drew Green (Pleasant Plains Baseball) Pleasant Plains made the trip south to play in the Metro East Kickoff on Saturday and picked up two wins. In a 4-0 win over Civic Memorial it was Green who helped lead the way at the plate. He went 2-3 with a walk and an RBI. Highlights of the Cardinals win HERE.

Dylan Huff (Glenwood Baseball) An exciting first game of the season for Glenwood on Friday night as they picked up a 4-3 win in eight innings. Huff had both the game tying and walk-off hits in the game. He went 4-4 with two RBIs and two doubles. Huff was also on the mound in the game as he threw four innings allowing one hit, one earned run and struck out seven. Check out the highlights of the walk-off victory HERE.

Rowann Law (Glenwood Girls Soccer) The Titans got the season started on Tuesday with a Central State Eight matchup against Normal U-High. After a scoreless first half it was Law who got the scoring started two minutes into the second half. She would finish the game with two goals in Glenwood’s 3-1 victory. Meena Taylor (Auburn Softball) Taylor is back for the Trojans this season after helping lead them to a state finals appearance last year. The senior struck out 11 and allowed just one earned run in five innings pitched against North Mac on Tuesday. She also went 3-4 with two RBIs in that 14-3 win. In a loss on Thursday to Staunton, Taylor struck out seven in seven innings pitched. Check out the highlights from Auburn’s win over North Mac HERE.

Aubrey Vogel (PORTA Softball) The Lady Jays softball team got the season started with a 6-2 win over Lincoln on Thursday. Vogel led the way at the plate as she went 2-4 with a double and a triple. She drove in three and scored one run. Highlights of that PORTA win HERE.

Mia Volpert (Springfield Softball) Two good starts for the Springfield senior last week. In a 5-0 win over New Berlin, Volpert struck out 16 and allowed just one hit in seven innings pitched. Then in a win over St Teresa, Volpert had another 16 strikeout performance in six innings pitched. She also went 2-3 with an RBI in that game.

Caroline Willenborg (Pleasant Plains Girls Soccer) The Cardinals got the season started with a tourney title at the St Teresa Tournament last week. In a semifinal win over Mattoon, Willenborg scored a hat trick. Then in the title game against Mt Zion she scored two more goals and added two assist.
