Trinity in Taylorville Prime Time Performer: March 3-8

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

The winner will receive a $20 gift card to Dublin Pub.

Gift cards will be mailed to the school office at the end of each month.

Ava Bee (Athens Track & Field) Bee is off to a good start this season with two wins last week in long jump. She finished first at a Williamsville Indoor Meet on Tuesday with a jump of 17 feet, 11 inches. She also took first in long jump at the Charleston/EIU Indoor Invite with a jump of 16 feet, 9.25 inches.

Liam Bettis (Taylorville Track & Field) Taylorville competed at the Charleston/EIU Indoor Invite over the weekend and Bettis brought home a victory. He picked up a first place finish in the 3200 meter with a time of 9:37.49.

Carson Doran (Williamsville Boys Basketball) The Williamsville senior helped lead to the way to two victories last week. In a sectional semifinal win over Staunton, Doran scored 17 points with 14 of those points coming in the first half. He then scored 12 in the sectional title game against Auburn with nine points in the second half. Bullets will play for a trip to state on Monday. Klaire Eighner (Maroa Forsyth Track & Field) Eighner has gotten out to a hot start in the indoor season. Over the weekend at the UNI High Mini Meet, she set a new indoor school record in the 3200m with a time of 11:19.76 and took first place. This is her second indoor school record this season as she recently broke the 1600m record with a time of 5:19.99.

Emily Gross (Normal U-High Track & Field) A state qualifier in high jump last season, Gross has found some early season success this year. The Pioneer picked up the a first place finish in high jump at the Charleston/EIU Indoor Invite over the weekend with a jump of 1.60 meters.

Jonathan Helm (Glenwood Boys Basketball) The Titans are playing for a trip to state on Monday night. Helm helped get Glenwood into the sectional title game with 26 points and 16 rebounds in a 57-43 overtime win over Champaign Central. He scored with 20 seconds left in regulation to tie the game and help force overtime. Helm also scored five points in the sectional title victory over Mt Zion on Friday. Clayton Kessler (Auburn Boys Basketball) Two big performances for Kessler at the Greenville sectional last week. In a semifinal win over Pleasant Plains the senior scored 16 points. He then scored 11 points in the second quarter on his way to a game high 16 points in the sectional title game against Williamsville as the Trojans fell 49-36. Tristan Stanton (Rochester Track and Field) A first place finish for the Rochester junior at the Charleston/EIU Indoor Invite over the weekend. Stanton took the victory with a jump of 6.36 meters.
