Jacob Barth (Auburn Boys Basketball) The Trojans will be heading back to Greenville for a sectionals this week following a regional title victory over the hosts on Friday night. Auburn defeated Greenville 56-43 as Barth scored a team high 14 points. Half of those 14 points came in the fourth quarter.
Brody Folkes (Illini Central Boys Basketball) Illini Central won their first regional title in 13 years on Friday night with a 46-37 victory over Mendon Unity. The IC junior scored 23 points in the victory including his 1,000th career point. He also broke the all time three-point record at the school with over 100 threes this season.
Grady Grisham (Pleasant Plains Boys Basketball) Pleasant Plains has won their third straight regional title on Friday night with a 48-41 victory over West Hancock in their home gym. Grisham led the way for the Cardinals with 15 points including seven points in the final frame. See highlights of the game HERE.
Karson Komnick (Lincoln Boys Basketball) The Railers won a regional championship on Friday at Southeast against Taylorville. Komnick scored 19 points in the 38-32 title game victory. He also went 7-for-9 at the free throw line. In a semifinal win on Wednesday night Komnick scored 17 points in the first half. Jada Leach (Pleasant Plains Girls Basketball) The Cardinals picked up a big 52-37 win over Carlinville last Tuesday to move into a sectional championship game. In that semifinal victory it was Leach who led the way with a team high 14 points including four three pointers. Check out highlights of that win HERE.
Mason Neumann (Glenwood Boys Basketball) Glenwood is heading to a sectional semifinal after a 43-39 win over Lanphier in the regional title game on Friday night. Neumann was the leading scorer for the Titans with 12 points, that included going 8-for-9 at the free throw line. See the highlights of the victory HERE.
Brayden Saling (Williamsville Boys Basketball) The Bullets had a slim lead over Quincy Notre Dame at halftime of the regional championship then Saling got hot. He scored all of his 21 points including five three pointers in the second half. Williamsville pulled away to pick up the 55-33 win over QND for the regional title. Check out the highlights HERE.
Alexis Seymour (Jacksonville Girls Wrestling) Seymour finished fifth at the girls state wrestling tournament over the weekend in Bloomington. The Jacksonville senior picked up a fall at 3:15 over Azar of Naperville Central for the win. See highlights from Saturday at the state tournament HERE.
Jenna Tuxhorn (Glenwood Girls Wrestling) The Glenwood junior brought home a third place finish at 145 from the girls state tournament on Saturday. Tuxhorn won with a 5-3 decision over Garbacz of South Elgin. Highlights from Saturday at the state tournament HERE.
