Trinity in Taylorville Prime Time Performer: February 17-22

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

The winner will receive a $20 gift card to Dublin Pub.

Gift cards will be mailed to the school office at the end of each month.

Andrew Bellemare (Sangamon Valley Swimming) Bellemare is heading to the state finals this weekend in two events. At the Urbana sectional over the weekend, he won the 200 yard freestyle (1:45.35) and the 500 yard freestyle (4:51.55) to qualify for state.

Luke Blackford (Calvary Boys Basketball) A milestone night for the Calvary junior on Friday. In a win over Pawnee, Blackford scored 17 points and early in the game passed the 2,000 point mark. A few highlights from that Saints win HERE.

King Dees (MacArthur Boys Basketball) MacArthur got a big win last week over Mt Zion. The Braves were ahead with ten seconds left before MacArthur got a steal and Dees scored a game winning layup for the 58-57 victory. See the game winner and highlights HERE.

Dylan Eimer (Olympia Wrestling) Olympia’s top finisher at the state finals over the weekend was Eimer. The Spartan’s senior picked up a 17-1 tech fall at 5:09 over Sweely of Benton for the podium finish. Highlights from the podium round HERE.

Casey Jackson (MacArthur Girls Basketball) The Generals won a regional title last week with a 58-51 win over Mt Zion at the Eisenhower regional. Jackson was MacArthur’s leading scorer with 15 points in the win. MacArthur heads to the Glenwood sectional this week.

Jett Karrick (PORTA Boys Basketball) PORTA got a big conference win over Auburn on Tuesday night. In the 57-55 victory, Karrick was the Bluejays leading scorer with 18 points including 11 in the second half. Check out the highlights of the victory HERE.

Bailey Leach (Pleasant Plains Girls Basketball) The Cardinals win another regional title on Thursday night in Williamsville with a 38-26 win over Sacred Heart Griffin. Leach was the Cardinals leading scorer with 13 points including six in the fourth quarter. She went 3-for-4 from the free throw line in the final frame. Highlights of the 2A regional victory HERE.

Cody Moss (Glenwood Wrestling) The Titans have another state champ! The Glenwood junior won the 2A 285 state championship at the State Farm Center in Champaign on Saturday. Moss’ victory came thanks to a 9-7 decision against Del Toro of East Peoria. See highlights and hear from the new state champion HERE.

Taylor Offer (Rochester Girls Basketball) The Rockets are regional champs! In a tight game with Taylorville it was Offer who made two free throws with 2.1 seconds left to put Rochester ahead 42-41. That would be the final score as the Tornadoes shot attempt was no good. Offer led the way with 14 points in the victory. You can see highlights of the 3A regional title game HERE.

Brayden Saling (Williamsville Boys Basketball) The Williamsville Bullets won the outright Sangamo title on Friday night with a 60-48 victory over Auburn. In that victory, Saling scored 18 points on six three-pointers to help lead the way. In a win over New Berlin on Tuesday the senior scored eight points. Cooper Schallenberg (Pleasant Plains Boys Basketball) Schallenberg has put his name in the record books at Pleasant Plains High School. On Friday in a win over Athens, the senior led the way with 21 points including 14 in the first quarter and a total of six three-pointers. Schallenberg scored the first five points of the game to move into second place on the all-time leading scorers list for the Cardinals. He passed Isaac Collins who’s total stood at 1528. Jackson Vinzant (Glenwood Swimming) Glenwood is sending a swimming to state this weekend. Vinzant won the 200 yard freestyle at the Edwardsville sectional on Saturday to qualify for the state finals. He finished with a time of 1:49.59.

Justin Zimmerman (PORTA Wrestling) The Bluejays have another podium finisher as Zimmerman brought home a fifth place finish from the state finals. The senior picked up a 8-2 decision over Bissey of Richland County. Podium round highlights HERE.
