Carson Arthalony (PORTA Girls Basketball) The Lady Jays picked up a big win on Wednesday in double overtime over Canton. Arthalony is back on the list as she scored 25 points in the 48-45 victory. She also had 22 points in an OT loss to Stanton and 20 in a win over North Mac last week. Highlights of the 2OT win over Canton HERE.
Cameron Appenzeller (Glenwood Boys Basketball) The Glenwood Titans picked up an overtime CS8 victory over Normal U-High at the Capital City Showcase on Saturday. Appenzeller broke the tie in OT to put the Titans in front as he finished with 17 points, eight rebounds, two steal and a block in the 47-41 victory. See the highlights of the game HERE.
Amaree Burries (Jacksonville Boys Basketball) Jacksonville played in a non-conference game at the Capital City Showcase on Saturday and took home a 63-48 win over Triad. Burries led the way for the Crimsons with 24 points and added six steals to the stat line. Check out the highlights HERE.
Tishawn Clemmons (Eisenhower Boys Basketball) The Panthers took home a 45-41 win over Lanphier from the Capital City Showcase on Saturday. In the Central State Eight win it was Clemmons who led in scoring for Eisenhower with 12 points. He also went 3-4 from the free throw line and forced four turnovers on defense. Carson Doran (Williamsville Boys Basketball) The Bullets are out to a 3-0 start this season following wins over Taylorville, Meridian and Calvary. The 74-51 win over Calvary happened at the Capital City Showcase on Saturday. Doran led the way with 24 points including three 3-pointers. He also had eight rebounds and a block. Lily Holmes (Lincoln Girls Basketball) The Railers hosted Sacred Heart Griffin in a CS8 game on Friday. Holmes came up with a big basket early in the fourth. Late in the game she went to the line and made two free throws for the one point lead. Lincoln defense held on and the Railers picked up the 45-44 victory. See highlights of the game HERE.
Karson Komnick (Lincoln Boys Basketball) Lincoln started the CS8 schedule with a win over SHG on Saturday. That win was also the 800th win for head coach Neil Alexander while at Lincoln. Komnick led the way in the victory with 23 points along with three 3-pointers and a steal. Check out highlights of the win HERE.
Sean Lee (MacArthur Boys Basketball) MacArthur picked up a one point win over Springfield High at the Capital City Showcase. In the 43-42 victory it was Lee who was the leading scorer for the Generals with 15 points. He went 7 for 10 at the free throw line and also had a steal. See highlights of the victory HERE.
Aydin Littig (New Berlin Boys Basketball) In a low scoring game at the Capital City Showcase on Saturday the Pretzels picked up a 35-25 win over Lincolnwood. Littig was the top scorer in the victory with eight points while he also collected six rebounds. Highlights of the game HERE.
Sean Lowder (Pleasant Plains Boys Basketball) The Cardinals hosted Calvary on Tuesday night and it was Lowder leading the way. He made six three pointers in the victory for a team high 18 points. You can see highlights of the win HERE.
Jack Melton (Rochester Boys Basketball) The Rockets got out to a hot start against Southeast at the Capital City Showcase on their way to a 52-31 win. Melton led the way in the CS8 victory with 18 points including four 3-pointers plus three steals. Check out the highlights of the victory HERE.
Max Wiezorek (Glenwood Wrestling) The Titans hosted the Tyler Cox Invite on Saturday and won the team title while also having three individual champions. One of those champions was Wiezorek who picked up four wins including a win by fall at 1:00 against Oakman from East Peoria for the 190 pound title.
Justin Zimmerman (PORTA Wrestling) Zimmerman is off to an 8-0 start this season with five of those wins coming on Saturday in Litchfield. He helped the Bluejay beat Roxana by winning the last match to secure the team victory over the 6th ranked team. Check out highlight from earlier in the week against Jacksonville HERE.
