Trinity in Taylorville Prime Time Performer: October 7-12

Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

You can vote once every 12 hours until the polls close on Friday at 5 p.m.

The winner will receive a $20 gift card to Dublin Pub.

Gift cards will be mailed to the school office at the end of each month.

James Baisden (Auburn Boys Cross Country) On Saturday in Petersburg it was Baisden who took home the boys individual title at the Sangamo cross country meet. Baisden finished with a time of 14:59.9 as he led the Trojans to the team victory as well. See highlights of the boys conference race HERE.

Klaire Eighner (Maroa Forsyth Girls Cross Country) The Sangamo cross county meet was held in Petersburg on Saturday and it was the Eighner who took home the girls individual title. She finished with a time of 17:38.33 for the win. Highlights of the girls race HERE.

Ivan Hun (Quincy Notre Dame Football) The Raiders traveled to Jacksonville in week seven and took home a 35-21 win over the Crimsons. Hun reached the end zone four times in the victory and finished with 221 all purpose yards. That victory moved QND to 5-0 in the CS8 West for the division title. See those touchdowns and more HERE.

Marcell Jerome (Southeast Football) The Spartans picked up their first victory of the season in a big 52-0 win over Lanphier on Saturday. Jerome got the game off to an exciting start with an 81 yard kickoff return on the opening kick to make it 7-0 Southeast early. The Spartans will travel to Normal U-High on Friday.

Landon Kutscher (Rochester Boys Soccer) Rochester traveled to Pleasant Plains on Tuesday and picked up a 1-0 win over the Cardinals. It was a corner kick into the box from Kutscher in the 15th minute that was the difference maker. That kick led to the lone goal of the game. Check out the kick from Kutscher and more HERE.

Haley Martin & Emma Eovaldi (Normal U-High Girls Tennis) The U-High team of Martin and Eovaldi won the Central State Eight doubles title on Saturday at Washington Park. The number one seed picked up the title with a 6-4, 6-1 win over teammates Patel and Storm. That helped to lead the Pioneers to a team conference title as well. Jenna McGath (New Berlin Volleyball) The Pretzels picked up a big Sangamo win over Athens on Tuesday with a 25-23, 26-28, 25-21 victory. McGath had a big game with 11 kills, two aces, one block and 13 digs. Some highlights of the Sangamo win HERE.

Matthew Miller (Williamsville Football) Williamsville will enter their week eight matchup with Maroa Forsyth unbeaten in Sangmo play after a 39-7 win over New Berlin on Friday night. Tied at seven late in the first half it was Miller who caught a touchdown pass from Braddock Cates to take the lead. He would also rush for a TD in the fourth to extend the lead. Miller finished the game with 26 rushing yards, 30 receiving yards and 24 yards on a kick return. Highlights of the victory HERE.

Gavin Oyler (Springfield High Boys Soccer) Oyler had a big week as the Senators picked up two wins. In a 3-2 win at Williamsville on Tuesday it was Oyler who picked up the assist on the game winning goal. On Thursday, Oyler was in goal for the Senators and picked up the shutout with five saves as Springfield won 4-0. Highlights of the win over Williamsville HERE and Rochester HERE.

Owen Pacetti (Normal U-High Boys Soccer) The Pioneers stay unbeaten in the Central State Eight with a 4-1 win over Sacred Heart Griffin on Thursday. Pacetti scored twice in the victory to move them to 7-0 in the conference and set up a CS8 championship match against Glenwood on Monday. See highlights of the victory over the Cyclones HERE.

Samantha Shankland (Glenwood Girls Tennis) Shankland won her second Central State Eight singles title on Saturday at Washington Park. Coming in as the number one seed, she defeated teammate, Ellie Surges, 6-4, 6-3 for the title. Highlights from CS8 Tennis HERE.

Ryne Sheppard (Maroa Forsyth Football) The Trojans are now 7-0 this season after a seven touchdown performance from the junior quarterback. Sheppard completed 17 of 20 pass attempts for 294 yards and seven scores to four different receivers. He also rushed for 78 yards in the 61-34 win over Olympia. The Trojans will travel to Williamsville for a battle of the conference unbeatens on Friday. Check out highlights of Sheppard’s performance HERE.

Caden Ward (Pawnee Football) The Indians welcomed Martinsville to town on Saturday in a battle of two 6-0 teams. It was Pawnee who came out on top with a 42-12 win to stay unbeaten. Ward threw for a couple touchdowns in the game including a go ahead score with 4:15 left in the third as Pawnee shutout Martinsville in the second half. Highlights of the game HERE.
