Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

Micha Bonansinga (Springfield High Track & Field) At the Solon/Lion Open on Wednesday at Memorial Stadium Bonansinga won both hurdle races with a victory in the 110 at 16.09 and the 300 at 43.22. He also won the 110 hurdles at the Capital City Classic on Saturday with a time of 16.02. Highlights of the Solon/Lion Open HERE.

Tate Brandenburg (Maroa Forsyth Baseball) The Trojans stay unbeaten this season after three victories last week. In a win over Pleasant Plains on Tuesday, Brandenburg went 2-for-3 with a walk and four RBIs. He followed that up with two walks and a RBI in a win over New Berlin on Thursday. Gary Garner (Eisenhower Track & Field) Eisenhower competed at the Capital City Classic at Memorial Stadium on Saturday. Garner won both the 100 meter and the 200 meter with times of 11.22 seconds and 22.72 seconds. Highlights of the Capital City Classic HERE.

Gigi Gray (Sacred Heart Griffin Girls Soccer) The Cyclones moved to 4-1 in the Central State Eight last week with a 2-0 win over Rochester. In the victory it was Gray in goal picking up a shutout to help secure the win. See highlight of the shutout victory HERE.

Drew Green (Pleasant Plains Baseball) A busy week for the Cardinals as they went 3-1 over a five day stretch. Green had success at the plate in all three of those wins. Against Southeast, Green drew two walks and drove in three. He then drove in two against PORTA and three against Springfield High. Taryn Griffith (Glenwood Softball) The Titans picked up four wins in five games last week including two Central State Eight victories. One of those conference wins came against Lincoln as Griffith led the way. She went 3-for-3 at the plate with four runs batted in. See the highlights of the win HERE.

Dylan Huff (Glenwood Baseball) Glenwood won three games last week including a 3-2 victory over Jacksonville Routt. Huff helped lead the way for the Titans at the plate and on the mound. He drove in a run and also was the winning pitcher with four innings pitched, allowing just two hits, one run and stricking out five. Highlights of that victory HERE.

Kelci Kahler (Maroa Forsyth Softball) Maroa Forsyth picked up a win in their first Sangamo game of the season with a 7-1 victory over Pleasant Plains. In the win Kahler had a big day at the plate going 3-for-4 with a double and four runs batted.

Bailey Leach (Pleasant Plains Girls Soccer) A big soccer game in Chatham last week as the 2023 1A third place team took on the 2023 2A state champs. The game was scoreless throughout and with seven seconds left on the clock Leach picked up the game winning goal for the Cardinals. Sam Owens (MacArthur Track & Field) A busy day for Owens on the track at the Solon/Lion Open on Wednesday. He picked up individual wins in the 100 meter (11.22) and the 200 meter (22.72). He also was a part of the winning 4×100 relay (43.66) and the second place 4×200 (1:32.13). Highlights of the Solon/Lion Open HERE.

Jordyn Turner (Olympia Softball) Olympia got their Sangamo schedule started with two wins last week and a non-conference win over SJO. Turner went 7-for-9 in those three games with six RBIs. She also picked up two walks and scored three runs. Three of the six runs batted in came on a 3-run home run against New Berlin.
