Rochester’s defense turned the Railsplitters over and Parker Gillespie powered the offense with three rushing touchdown and a passing touchdown. The Rockets opened the 4A playoffs with a 59-14 victory over Lincoln. The Railsplitters were able to score in the first quarter on a 53 yard pass from Ki’on Carson to Gabe Smith to tie the game at 7 with 6:55 to go in the first quarter. Rochester will host Coal City in Week 2 of the IHSA 4A playoffs on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 7 pm.
