Favorite Mother’s Day Gift: I’m more of a gift-giver than receiver, so I can be difficult to shop for.  So, honestly, some of my favorite Mother’s day gifts are the little hand-painted cups and pots from daycare that had flowers in them and the fill-in-the-blank “all about mom” pages they used to do.  My favorite Mother’s day memories were going to the STL zoo each year when our kids were younger though.  We just loved spending the time together and seeing their reactions to all of the animals and being outside for the day without hearing whistles blow from refs.  This year Mother’s day will hold special meaning as my own mom has been battling breast cancer since November and had to miss out on winter sports (picture above was the one wrestling meet she was able to attend, which was team duals vs Mahomet at the end of the season).  Celebrating her battle from warrior to survivor and the impact she’s had on all our lives as a mother and grandmother is something we appreciate more every day, but will really look forward to honoring this year!

Hidden Talent: I think most of my talents are pretty obvious as I try to share them to with others.  So, I was going to say “karaoke,” but my kids informed me last night that may not be much of a talent in my case…lol!

Best song to rock out with in a car fill of kids: If it’s my 11 yr-old, we are definitely singing “Great Ball of Fire” or “Never Gonna Give You Up,” with my daughter and her friends, it is probably every song on their play list, with my 16 yr-old you probably will catch me singing classics from the 80’s and 90’s (Sweet Home Alabama, American Pie vibes) while he laughs at me (he will be sure to emphasize this is AT me not with me)

My best sport in high school was: Volleyball!
