St. Louis Community College Take Wins in Double Header Against the Loggers

LLCC vs STLCC Game 1:
Lincoln Land fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 11-3 loss to St. Louis Community College on Monday.  St. Louis took the lead on a home run in the first inning.
The Loggers struggled to contain the high-powered offense of St. Louis, giving up 11 runs. In the first inning, St. Louis got their offense started.  Morgan Shields homered on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs. The Arches scored three runs in the fourth inning.  Lexi Sherrick and Shields all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Sherrick got the win for St. Louis. The righthander surrendered three runs on seven hits over five innings, striking out one. Bailey Teasley took the loss for Lincoln Land. The pitcher surrendered seven runs on nine hits over two and two-thirds innings. The Loggers smacked one home run on the day. Andee Brown had a dinger in the fourth inning. Lincoln Land  collected seven hits.  Brown, Charlotte Hayes, and Nyla Cooper all collected multiple hits for Lincoln Land.  Cooper, Hayes, and Brown each collected two hits to lead their team.

The Arches racked up 14 hits on the day.  Jazmin Reinkmeyer, Sherrick, Jillian Mengel, Megan Russell, and Lexi Martinez each managed multiple hits for St. Louis.  Reinkmeyer went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Arches in hits.

LLCC vs STLCC Game 2:
The Loggers watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 7-2 loss to St. Louis Community College on Monday in second game of double header.  The Arches scored on a single by Dorothy Wunderlich in the first inning and a home run by Sydney Quinones in the second inning. St. Louis got things moving in the first inning.  St. Louis scored one run when Wunderlich singled.

The Arches scored four runs in the fourth inning, their big inning was driven by a single by Wunderlich, a groundout by Megan Russell, and a double by Morgan Shields. Erin Gill earned the win for the Arches. The righthander surrendered two runs on six hits over six and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking zero.

Karley Moore led things off in the pitcher’s circle for Lincoln Land. Moore went five innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits and striking out six.  Maranda File threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Alivia Hemberger led the Loggers with three hits in three at bats.

St. Louis racked up ten hits in the game.  Wunderlich, Lexi Martinez, and Quinones each had multiple hits for the Arches. They were sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Kiera Chrisco had the most chances in the field with six.
