Vincennes Take Down the Loggers in MWAC Conference Play on Sunday

LLCC vs Vincennes Game 1:
Both teams were strong on the pitcher’s mound on Sunday in game one of the Sunday double header. But, Vincennes University was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over the Loggers on Sunday. Brannan Kraft started the game for Lincoln Land and recorded 15 outs.

Xavier Hart was the winning pitcher for Vincennes. The fireballer allowed two hits and one run over seven innings, striking out five. Kraft started the game for the Loggers. The pitcher surrendered two runs on three hits over five innings, striking out one.  Evan Herpsteith threw two innings out of the bullpen. Grant Pohlman and Austin Adcock each managed one hit to lead the Loggers. Colin Long went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Vincennes in hits.

LLCC vs Vincennes Game 2:
The Loggers fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 7-4 loss to Vincennes on Sunday in second game of double header. Vincennes scored on a single by Colton Evans, an error during Kobe Bartlett’s at bat, and a walk by Trevor Newman in the first inning. Vincennes got on the board in the first inning scoring one run when Evans singled. Gavin Craggs got the win for Vincennes. The southpaw allowed six hits and three runs over six innings, striking out six.  Aaron Fenn threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Sergio Marchizza was on the mound for the Loggers. The righthander surrendered four runs on four hits, walking one.  Ben Draeger, Porter Conn, and Griffin Neuweg each contributed in relief for Lincoln Land. The Loggers hit one home run on the day. Grant Pohlman had a long ball in the third inning. Lincoln Land saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game.  Pohlman, Trace Melody, and Drew Ezard all had multiple hits for the Loggers.  Pohlman went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead in hits.

Vincennes totaled ten hits.  Colin Long, Evans, Ethan Burdette, and Keegan Schlotterbeck each racked up multiple hits for Vincennes.  Long led the team with three hits in five at bats.
