Cody Fry (Jacksonville Baseball) The Crimsons started off last week with a 6-1 win, over PORTA, on Monday. In the victory, Cody Fry led Jacksonville with four RBIs that day while walking once and scoring a run. The Crimsons take on SHG in Central State Eight action this week. Griffin Burk (Springfield High Baseball) Springfield High kicked off the CS8 series with Sacred Heart Griffin with a 10-4 win over the Cyclones. Burk had a big day at the plate going 3-4 with four RBIs in the victory. Springfield plays MacArthur in CS8 action this week. See those hits and more HERE.
Peytin Bryant (Athens Softball) The Warriors fell in their first game of the season but have picked up three wins since. Last week against Pawnee, Athens picked up a win and Bryant got it done at the plate and in the circle. She went 3 for 4 at the plate with four RBIs and scored three runs. While pitching, she gave up just two hits and no walks while striking out eight.
Matt Goldasich (Sacred Heart Griffin Baseball) The Cyclones split the two game series with Springfield High last week. During game two of the series, SHG picked up a 9-8 victory in nine innings. Goldasich had a sac fly in the ninth to put SHG ahead. He finished that game with 2 RBIs. Highlights of the victory HERE.
Cru Erickson (Glenwood Baseball) The Titans started their CS8 schedule last week with three wins in three days. In two of those victories Erickson totaled 9 RBIs. He batted in four runs on Wednesday against Jacksonville in a 8-3 victory. Then on Thursday, he went 3 for 3 with five RBIs in a 13-0 win over UHigh. Glenwood takes on Lanphier this week. Drew Green (Pleasant Plains Baseball) Pleasant Plains got a game in against Macomb last week. In the 10-3 victory, Green had a good day at the plate. He went 3 for 3 with three RBIs and scored a run.
Mia Volpert (Springfield High Softball) A big week for Volpert and the Senators as they picked up two wins over SHG in Central State Eight action. On Tuesday, in a 8-0 win, she struck out a career high 18 while allowing two hits and one walk in seven innings of work. She also went 2 for 3 with three RBIs and two runs scored at the plate. On Wednesday, in a 12-1 win, Volpert struck out another ten batters in six innings allowing just one run. She also had two RBIs and scored three runs. Highlights of Wednesday’s game HERE.
Cassie Feld (Glenwood Softball) Glenwood added three conference victories to their record last week. First they picked up two wins over Jacksonville. Then on Thursday, Feld led the Titans in a big victory over UHigh. She had two homers in the 11-5 win and finished with 4RBIs. See the home and highlights of the win HERE.
Matt Miller (Southeast Baseball) The Spartans are off to a good start this season with a record of 5-0. Last week they picked up up two wins over Eisenhower and in Wednesday’s game Miller had a big day at the plate. He went 6 for 6 with six RBIs in the victory while scoring four runs.
Kyndel Moore (Riverton Girls Soccer) The Hawknadoes picked up a Sangamo Conference win last week with a 5-1 victory over Olympia. She picked up another hat trick in the victory with three goals along with an assist.
