Here are this week’s candidates for the Trinity Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Taylorville Prime Time Performer.

Joey Ruzic (Auburn Wrestling) Back to back state champ! Ruzic won the 1A 120 pound individual state championship in a overtime tiebreaker. His victory was a 4-3 win against Ty Edwards from Yorkville Christian. You can see the highlights and hear from Ruzic HERE.

Jake Hamilton (Sacred Heart Griffin Boys Basketball) The Cyclones are outright CS8 champs with a 17-1 record after a win over Glenwood on Thursday. Hamilton had a career high 33 points in the victory. Twenty-two of those points came in the first half and he finished with 5 three pointers. Check out the highlights HERE.

Drew Davis (Glenwood Wrestling) Back to back state champ! We had two state champs in Champaign this weekend as Davis won the 2A 113 pound championship on Saturday night. He won by a 3-2 decision over Nate Randle. Davis also picked up career win #100 in the process. Check out the highlights of the championship match and hear from Davis HERE.

Gannon Dodd (New Berlin Boys Basketball) The Pretzels took care of business on Thursday to claim the outright Sangamo conference crown. In the victory over Maroa Forsyth, at the Pretzel Dome, Dodd was the leading scorer for New Berlin with 16 points, 14 of those points came in the first half. See the highlights of the victory HERE.

Alyson Murphy (Mt Pulaski Girls Basketball) Mt Pulaski won a regional title on their home court on Friday night and head to the Lexington sectional this week. In that regional championship game, Murphy had a game high 18 points for the Toppers. See some of the highlights HERE.

Chris Leming (Springfield High Swimming and Diving) The Senators are sending a diver to state! Leming won the diving event at the Edwardsville sectional on Saturday. He won with a score of 405.25 and will head to Westmont this weekend.

Kloe Froebe (Lincoln Girls Basketball) She’s back on the list again as she continues to keep hitting career milestones. In the regional semifinal Froebe recorded her 2,000th point as well as posting a quadruple double. Her stat line that night was 28 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 steals. She also had 33 points in the regional championship game. The Railers head to the Rochester sectional this week. Highlight of the semifinal HERE and the championship HERE.

Matthew Meyer (UHigh Swimming) Another swimmer heading north to state this weekend is Meyer. The Pioneer picked up a first place finish in the 100 breaststroke at the Pekin sectional with a time of one minute flat.

Emma Dixon (Rochester Girls Basketball) The Rockets won a regional championship on their home floor now they get a shot at a sectional there was well. Rochester picked up a win over Springfield on Thursday to claim the regional title with Dixon leading the way. She had a game high 16 points while going 7-10 from the floor. Kevin Crews (Springfield High Boys Basketball) After splitting their previous two games against Rochester this season, the Senators got a big win on Saturday. In a regional quarterfinal at the RAC, Crews scored a career high 22 points in the 58-48 victory. The Senators move onto the regional semifinal on Wednesday.
