Kloe Froebe (Lincoln Girls Basketball) Lincoln has a new varsity single game scoring record thanks to Froebe’s performance against Bloomington last week. On Thursday she scored 49 points in the 76-37 victory passing both the girls and boys single game records. Keep on eye on the Railers as they have an 8-0 record entering this week.
Zack Hawkinson (Sacred Heart Griffin Boys Basketball) The Cyclones went 3-0 in their first week of action this season. In the first two games Hawkinson finished with a double double while adding 17 points in a win over Lanphier at the Capital City Showcase. Josh Jones (Glenwood Boys Basketball) The Titans picked up a CS8 win over Rochester on Saturday at the Capital City Showcase. Jones had a double double with 11 rebounds and 14 points in the victory. Check out some of the highlights HERE.
Azarion Richardson (MacArthur Boys Basketball) The Generals stay unbeated through the first couple weeks of the season after conference wins over Glenwood and UHigh last week. On Saturday against UHigh at the Capital City Showcase Richardson scored 21 points and led the team in the 66-42 victory. Highlights of that win HERE.
Marisa Gant (Southeast Girls Basketball) The Spartans picked up a 54-50 victory over Springfield High on Friday night. In the win, Gant led Southeast with 27 points including 17 in the second half. See the highlights of the win HERE.
Joey Ruzic (Auburn Wrestling) The Illini commit is off to a hot start this season as he picked up seven takedowns before getting the pin 76 seconds into the match to open the season. Watch out for the reigning state champ and two time national champ the rest of the season. Highlights of the season opener HERE.
Lucas Bixby (New Berlin Boys Basketball) The Pretzels are ranked 4th in 1A and picked up a win over Metro East Lutheran at the Capital City Showcase on Saturday. Bixby led the team with a double double including 10 rebounds and 15 points. Highlights of the victory HERE.
Amaree Burries (Jacksonville Boys Basketball) The Crimsons got a conference victory over the weekend at the Capital City Showcase. In the win over Eisenhower Burries led the team with 19 points. You can see the highlights of the win HERE.
Zach Powell (Pleasant Plains Boys Basketball) Another big week for Powell as the Cardinals picked up two wins last week. Powell shot 82.6% in the two wins with 44 points, nine rebounds, and went 6 for 7 on free throws.
Seth Doss (Southeast Boys Basketball) The Spartans picked up a victory at the Capital City Showcase against Springfield High over the weekend. In the win Doss scored 18 while adding nine rebounds. Highlights of the win HERE.
Makenna Yeager (Glenwood Girls Basketball) The Titans kicked off their conference schedule with a win over MacArthur on Tuesday. Yeager had a 24 points in the win as she went 10 for 18 with three 3-pointers. Highlights of the win HERE.
Zach Bryant (PORTA Wrestling) The Bluejays got a 43-36 win over Auburn on Saturday. In the 113 weight class Bryant picked up the win with a fall in 33 seconds.
