Teagan Morley (Pleasant Plains Girls Soccer) The Cardinals won the 2022 Pleasant Plains girls soccer tournament on Friday with a big win over Williamsville. In the championship game Morley had two goal in the first half. During their opening game on Monday she also had two goals against Macomb. Matt Sauser (U-High Baseball) The Pioneers stay atop of the conference standings with two wins over Rochester last week. In game one, Sauser threw a no hitter while striking out 15 in the 10-0 victory.
Megan Holub (Maroa Forsyth Softball) Maroa Forsyth is tied with Auburn at the top of the conference standings thanks to a win against the Trojans on Thursday. Holub had a big day at the plate with four hits and four RBIs, including a three run homer in the sixth to give Maroa the 14-2 victory. Check out the highlights from the win HERE.
Colleen Zeibert (Rochester Track and Field) We’ve seen her pick up wins in cross country and track plenty of times but Zeibert can now add a school record for the 3200 meter to her resume. She broke the record Tuesday night at a meet in Pana with a time of 11:10.
Nolan McMasters (Glenwood Baseball) The Titans picked up two conference victories over SHG. In a 9-0 victory on Tuesday McMasters had two hits and four RBIs while in Wednesday’s win he had one hit and two RBIs with one walk. See Tuesday’s win HERE and Wednesday’s victory HERE.
Caroline Sheehan (SHG Girls Soccer) The Cyclones travled to Normal on Monday to take on the U-High Pioneers. Sheehan scored both of SHG’s two goals in the 2-1 victory to hand the Pioneers their first conference loss of the season. Check out the highlights HERE.
Linden Neposchlan (Springfield High Track and Field) The Springfield High girls are City champs in track and field but Neposchlan is also a City record holder. She passed her sisters record in pole vault with a new record of 11 feet. She also finished third in the 200m and fifth in the 100m at the City meet. See the highlights of the girls City meet HERE.
Lucas Bixby (New Berlin Baseball) The Pretzels keep themselves in the conference race with a win over Riverton on Thursday. The DH, Bixby, led the team at the plate in the victory with three hits and two RBIs while also drawing a walk and scoring two runs. You can see the highlights HERE.
Sophie McWard (North Mac Girls Soccer) The Panthers picked up a couple wins last week as McWard brought her goal total on the season to 22. In a 2-1 win over Gillespie she scored both North Mac goals and later in the week picked up five goals in a 5-0 win over Litchfield.
Rheys Sams-Moore (Maroa Forsyth Baseball) A couple big wins last week keep Maroa Forsyth in first place in the conference standings. One of those wins came against Auburn on Thursday thanks a Sams-Moore walk off solo home run to give the Trojans the 1-0 victory. In the win over North Mac on Tuesday he also had one hit, one RBI and one walk while scoring two runs. See the walk off homer HERE and the win over North Mac HERE.
Kate Feld (Glenwood Softball) The Titans have a three game lead in the conference standings after they swept the Cyclones. In Tuesday’s 5-2 victory Feld had a big game with a homer in the fifth to get the scoring started and a couple great defensive plays at third. Parker Fox (PORTA Track and Field) A big night for the senior in Havana last week as the Bluejays picked up a meet victory. Fox finished first in the high jump, 110 high hurdles, and the 300 low hurdles then helped his 4×800 team pick up a win as he ran anchor.
