Zach Powell (Pleasant Plains Boys Basketball) The Cardinals traveled to Riverton to make up their final Sangamo game last Monday and they secured the outright conference title with a win. Powell scored 23 points for Plains in the 52-40 victory. Highlights of the win HERE.
Eli Curtis (Glenwood Boys Basketball) The Titans picked up a win over Centralia, 42-38, in a sectional semifinal last Tuesday to send them to the sweet sixteen. In the victory Curtis scored 19 points. Check out the semifinal victory HERE.
Jabryn Anderson (MacArthur Boys Basketball) The Generals forced overtime with Mahomet Seymour last Wednesday in a sectional semifinal. In OT Anderson had a bucket early to put MacArthur ahead and they held the lead for the 65-62 win. See the highlights HERE.
Jake Hamilton (Sacred Heart Griffin Boys Basketball) The Cyclones are back in a super sectional after an overtime sectional championship victory. In the 55-53 victory Hamilton went 8 for 9 with his only miss coming in the third on a three. He scored 17 points. Highlights of the victory HERE.
Spencer Rikas (Auburn Boys Basketball) The Trojans fell in a sectional semifinal game to Bloomington Central Catholic last Tuesday but Rikas led the team in scoring in his final basketball game for Auburn. He scored 15 points while making two threes and going 5 for 5 from the line. Check out the highlights HERE.
Kaiden Maurer (Maroa Forsyth Boys Basketball) Maroa Forsyth took on QND last Wednesday in a sectional semifinal. Despite the loss Maurer had a great game for the Trojans. The junior came up with big baskets throughout the game as they tried to keep it close and racked up assists all night. Highlights HERE.
Ineh Erewele (Springfield High Track and Field) The Senators traveled to Eastern this weekend for the EIU High School Indoor Track and Field Meet. Erewele finished first in the triple jump with a jump of 9.89m.
