In the sectional championship he racked up seven RBIs with a single, two-run home run and a grand slam. Brock Richards (Maroa Forsyth Track and Field) The Trojans picked up a sectional championship last week Richards qualified individually in two events. He finished first in the 3200 with a time of 10:56.74 and second in the 1600 (4:42.72).

Chase Adams (U-High Baseball) The Pioneers continue to roll as they punched a ticket to state on Monday. Adams has been a big contributor the past week. He had a hit and RBI in the regional championship then combined for 4 hits and 4 RBIs in the sectional semifinal and championship. He also had a RBI in the super sectional. On the mound he pitched 4 2/3 innings in the sectional championship allowing no hits or walks and striking out six

Jackson Fricke (Mt Pulaski Baseball) The Hilltoppers are heading to state for the first time in school history. During sectionals and the super sectional Fricke has batted in six runs and racked up seven hits. Four of those hits came in the sectional semifinal while three more came in the super sectional.

Jack Pearce (Pleasant Plains Track and Field) Pearce qualified for four events in sectionals as the Cardinals picked up a team title. He finished first with a personal record in the 100m (11.33) and second in the 400m (51.00). He also picked up a first place finish as a part of the 4×100 team (44.01) and another second on the 4×400 team (3:36.77).

Dylan Dickerson (SHG Baseball) The Cyclones make a fourth team in the Channel1450 coverage area that is state bound. SHG has been on a roll this past week out scoring their opponents 31-6 in four games and posting two shutouts including a no-hitter against Pana. A good pitching staff needs a great catcher and Dickerson has been just that for the Cyclones during this run and all season.

Kelsey Bruno (Tri-City Softball) The Tornadoes picked up a win over SHG in the sectional championship on Thursday. The senior pitcher gave up just one earned run in the game allowing three hits and striking out five. She also contributed at the plate with two RBIs.
