Taylorville’s Chris Cherry took home the win on his home course against another one of the state’s top runners, Rochester’s Matthew Herren on Tuesday evening. Cherry won with a time of 15:50, Herren helped the Rockets to a team first place finish with at time of 16:26. Rochester’s Colleen Zeibert won the girls race by nearly two minutes, but the Tornadoes took the team title thanks to second through fifth place finishes.
