Chad Saner admitted after the game that nerves got the best of him in the first inning as Southeast scored two runs to take the early lead. After the first inning though, Saner settled down and led Lanphier to a 5-2 victory over the Spartans to pick up City win number one for the Lions.
Zach Knox and Tyler Tomko picked up RBI’s in the second inning for the Lions. Southeast and Lanphier will play game two tomorrow at Robin Roberts with a 4:15 first pitch.
