After a two hour rain delay just 20 minutes into a 0-0 game between Pleasant Plains and Bloomington Central Catholic, there was inevitably going to be some slip ups on either end. Early on those slip ups came from Pleasant Plains. BCC took a 2-0 lead into halftime before adding another to essentially give themselves an insurmountable 3-0 lead, the Cardinals battled back.
Scoring two goals in the final 15 minutes of the game, Plains had one final chance to tie it off a corner in the final 10 seconds of the game but their best shot dinged off the post, effectively ending Pleasant Plains’ season in the Sectional Semifinals.
