Metamora jumped out to a 12-6 lead midway through the second quarter to give 2nd-ranked 3A Southeast a run for their money, but Anthony Fairlee beasted his way to a double double by halftime as the Spartans ratcheted up the defense in the second half to go up as many as seven in the fourth quarter and ultimately pull out a 57-49 win over Metamora in the Peoria Winter Throwdown.
Anthony Fairlee had 20 points in the win.
