Neither team has won a Sangamon County title in four years. New Berlin hasn’t been to the title game in over 20 years. Defense got both teams a spot in the championship game on Friday night.
Williamsville enters still undefeated this season and the top seed looks the part of a top ranked team, but the Pretzels have a way of rising to the occasion in games like this under head coach Blake Lucas, after last season’s appearance in the sectional championship.
New Berlin vs. Williamsville take the court for the 2018 Sangamon County crown Friday night at 8 p.m. at Cass Gymnasium on the campus of Lincoln Land Community College.
