Kai Carlberg ran for a two yard touchdown in the first half and caught a 51 yard yard score in the second half but he saved the best for last as he rushed for the game winning score in the first overtime of a 20-14 win over Carlinville in the 3A state quarterfinals on Saturday.
Pleasant Plains, who had never played in a quarterfinal in school history, advances to next Saturday’s semifinals where they’ll host Anna-Jonesboro.
