Aubrey Hunt drove in two runs with a single and a double and Payton Sturdy had eight strikeouts to lead Tri-City to a 5-1 win over Gillespie in the 2A Williamsville sectional semifinal on Tuesday afternoon.
Tri-City put up two runs in the third with Hunt’s RBI single and Taylor Page’s RBI knock. Hunt then had a RBI double in the fifth and for good measure Hailey Patrick knocked in an insurance run in the seventh along with a Page sac fly.
Tri-City will play the winner of Williamsville vs. Dupo on Saturday for the sectional championship.
