Glenwood had the chances, but with less than eight minutes to play, the Titans were still locked in a 0-0 game in Tuesday’s 2A sectional semifinal against Waterloo. That’s when Carlie Smith took it upon herself to create a cross that slipped through the Waterloo keeper’s hands and onto the waiting foot of Taylor Parriott. The Titans won 1-0 and advance to Friday’s sectional championship against Triad, who beat two-time defending state champion Rochester 3-0 in Tuesday’s night cap.
