Two of the three teams in the Sangamo conference with just one loss met on Saturday morning out in Petersburg. PORTA hosting Maroa-Forsyth and the Trojans were able to pick up three runs and walk away with a 3-2 victory thanks to Will Horve on the mound.
PORTA got RBI from Sam Atterberry and Scott Boehm in the sixth but couldn’t tie things up. Devin Lasanska went 3 for 4 for the Jays.
Maroa-Forsyth will host Pleasant Plains on Monday afternoon for what is likely the conference championship.
