New Berlin Dominates In Second Half To Topple Waverly Tournament No. 2 Seed Auburn

The Waverly Holiday Tournament continues to teach us that the seeds just don’t mean much of anything this year. No. 6 New Berlin took down No. 2 Auburn 57-43 in Tuesday’s quarterfinal. With the Trojans headed to the consolation bracket, it leaves just one of the top four seeds (No. 1 Athens) still in the running for a Waverly title.

Auburn and New Berlin were tied at 24 at the half, but Connor Allen scored nine of this 10 points in that quarter to help the Pretzels build a 10 point lead. New Berlin’s Hunter Stockton led all scorers with 24 points. Connor Berola led the Trojans with 14.

New Berlin will play the winner of West Central and Lincolnwood in Wednesday’s semifinals at 8pm.
