The Glenwood Titans were able to attack the glass, knock down the outside shot and hold Isaac Collins and Cole Greer in check to win their season opener 54-42 over Pleasant Plains in the Jacksonville Thanksgiving Tournament opener.
Will Hanlon scored 15 points and Karson Aherin and Jason Hansbrough each added ten to lead the Titans on offense, while Matt Bahlmann helped slow down Collins and Greer.
Collins finished with five points while Greer had 10. Pleasant Plains was led by TJ Painter’s 15 points in Kyle Weber’s debut as the Cardinals’ head coach.
Plains will play Macomb at 5 p.m. on Wednesday and Glenwood will play Galesburg immediately after at the Bowl in Jacksonville to continue tournament play.
